Already I'm really shure: NOT the camera is horrible, only the stock camera software. I tried the st ...

You see: the solution is not only the ISO options. The solution is to override of conversion-noisereduction algorythm of the stock camera app!!!

I've switched to another camera app and the noise is practically gone. Much happier with the results now.. although focusing is still a bit hit and miss

Wich camera app? Unfortunately I bought A Better Camera App from Play Store, but it seems that is impossible to switch the microSD as default memory. I don't like to use internal memory for photos.

Unfortunately that's a restriction of the Android KitKat system. You have to install SDFix to get access to the sd card by installed apps. I use FolderMount to redirect the folder(s) of other apps that don't offer the possibility to choose the storage device. Big game data files for example.

Edited by abelnorchis at 2015-9-17 14:36 \n\nUninstalled A better Camera, re-installed (the free version) and now it works with SD card, without external mounting program. Now I would try again with payed version. Maybe it was a bug.
