This is the SP Flash Tool + downloadable OTA release of the

V3.02_20160923 firmware

for UMI Super

Flash tool operation is recommended for experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!

UMI Super receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricekd your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again.

ROM: 20160923_c239v55_kw_u1.rar - Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6755_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other elements

SPFT: SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1628.rar (use this one instead of the old version linked in the UMI forum guide)

VCOM driver: MT65x3_USB_VCOM_drivers.zip or Mediatek_Driver_Auto_Installer_1.1352.00.rar

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMI Super if the standard method doesn't work. It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop.

1. Connect your UMI Super to USB.

2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.

3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.

4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

Manual (local) OTA update method instructions

1. Copy the downloaded .zip file to either the internal memory or the SD card of your phone

2. Go to Settings --> About phone --> Wireless update

3. Tap the 3-dot menu button at the top right corner and select Local updates

4. Brows for the ...update.zip file and select it

5. Tap Install now, comfirm the process with OK and wait until the process will be finished

Update file for manual OTA update: UMI_Super_20160923_c239v55_kw_u1_update.zip

Optional method (in case if the manual OTA update gets stuck): Install from recovery

You need a microSD card (with at least 4GB capacity) installed in your phone!

• Copy the ...update.zip file to your SD card
• Press and hold the volume-up and power buttons together until your phone restarts. It needs about 10 seconds or a little bit less if your phone was already powered off.
• When your phone is restarted, immediately release the power button but still hold the vol-up button until you see a lying android figure with an exclamation mark in red triangle on its tummy.
• Press and hold the power and vol-up buttons (in this order) together, then release them to call the recovery menu. Now you can move with the volume buttons and select an item with the power button.
• Move to ‘Apply update from SD card’ and select it.
• On the next screen brows for the update file and select it. The updating process will start and needs a few minutes to be finished.
• After a succcessful installation you can read the ''Install from sdcard complete'' message and the receovery menu is available again.
• Select 'Reboot system now'. Alternatively you can perform a factory data reset here by choosing 'Wipe data/factory reset'

Hello,
impossible for me to make an update in FOTA. Umi “euro” reboot with 18% then it begins the update, it stops and displays the message “error!”. How to make update FOTA without error? Is what if I make the update in SPFT, will all be deleted or not?

Thanks for improving system but please not fixing something what is working fine. There was no need fixing finger print sensor as was working very well. Please just focus on fault which customers complaining.
1. Thanks for change camera app (please fix color balance etc as some customers still have some issues)
2. Please come back in to finger print sensor previous versions as nothing was wrong with it.
3. Please change loudness of speakers as some customers (and I confirm that could be louder)  complained of low volume
4. Please fix sensitivity of light sensor in darker condition
5. Please fix sensitivity of screen when is not in hand and is on table etc
6.  I would recommend you to base new  software on 3.01 20160708 as this software have not issue with finger print sensor, touch sensitivity just if you could add this new camera app with small improvements would be nice
7. Add to shortcut list Hotspot (tethering),  remove one of the Sim data shortcut or update list for system UI tuner
8. Add option for battery percentage on top bar
9. Switch off this stupid battery saver which is switching off camera flash when battery is less than 15% but you are able to switch on torch. This setting doesn't have any sense.
Guys my proposition is write faults in list is just easier to understand and confirm with other users.

I can confirmed that something different is now with finger print sensor, as in previous softwares versions when you touch sensor with correct finger screen was switching on way quicker and phone wasn't vibrating, just was vibrating when you used wrong finger to informed you of error in unlocking ( which this option was the best). I don't have problems with finger print unlocking but is slower and something is wrong with vibration.

I'm not that thrilled about the new camera app.. ..It looks nice and has some more options but the performance als might be lower. though I didn't compare it to well to be honest. Stil a +1 in comparison with the last "up"date

I checked this link and is working correctly this time.
There is very nice clear new camera app and by my opinion improvement in camera pictures. GPS is working correctly for me first fix after update in 30 seconds and around 5 meters accuracy. I checked with GPS switched on data off (only device).
But some issues are not fixed as :
1. Still there is problem with touch screen sensitivities when phone is not in hand and is on the table etc.
2. Auto screen brightness in dark conditions
3. And this shortcut icons, to replace one of the Sim data to Hotspot

And I forgot ask about battery percentage on top bar. Could you please try add this battery percentage indicator too top bar. As if you want check correct level of battery you need slide down shortcuts list or go to battery setting.

The same problem for me.  Touch screen sensitivities when it  is on the table almost impossible using.

The battery percentage and shortcuts order could be changed with the System UI tuner which is available in the stock android, it just have to be enabled.

After updating my UMI Super to this ROM, the camera app works well and is a great improvement.

However, Bluetooth now connects but will not play any sounds, music, phone calls via any bluetooth connected device.  I have deleted all devices, re connected and still no sound via bluetooth.  Does anyone else have this problem.
UMI some help and comments appreciated.

I can't update - FOTA throws an "unzip error" after download (tried 4 times already)
