What you are saying is not true. Since if you follow the instuction on the first screen on fresh Windows 10/64 bit install with Admin rights doesn't work.
I managed to do the flash with these drivers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ ... vers-32-64-t3267033
Please, kindly note that for 10x64 you need to disable driver signature, I did that and everything was fine. After you finish the procedure described with uninstall, however, I plugged my Max in USB and turned on USB debugging, so in that way my conputer auto finished install. After than it was still unknown device in Device manager, but everything was OK with the flash after that. I presumed the device was still unknown, because the MTK drivers are almost an year old, so this chipset was not used at that time.
My problem is that after i plugged the Max to the lap top, nothing happend. Basicaly, the lap top can't see the phone. wind 10 * 64. Can you help me with this issue?

I think it will be good for UMI to issue proper OTA update that will work without all of those worka ...
I like how you address the real issue around here. I also have a Umi Max and I am so far loving it, but seeing that the software problems are not uncommon, it really bugs me and renders me unwilling to update so I don't end up with greater issues.
1: i dont know
2. it was being said, that it is recommened to update to 9.23 from 8.10 and not to 8.19
3. because you cannot install just the update itself, for now, this one, you will loose data and you cannot go around it ,but after it,with normal "just updates", you should not loose data, but you can back up any program with the backup tool , for sms and call log you have plenty of program on the store , i dont see the problem
I bought micro sd, i have formatted as external storage, i have erases cache data, i have started the upgrade and the upgrade start and after i recive error :-(
I finally managed full upgrade to the latest ROM using the following method:
1: Install VMware Workstation and create new Windows 8.1 VM
2: Used the following set of drivers: MT65x3 USB VCOM drivers
3: Used the following instruction to upgrade http://community.umidigi.com/for ... &extra=page%3D1
4: During the process I have had issue with ended up with bricked UMI Max, to overcome that I followed the exact following process from youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3TmXtOA0IA
The main thing I did once connected my phone to the USB port (Powered off) was to press Volume Up and Power Button, that did force the ROM to be updated.
Two questions before upgrading via SPFT:
- do I have to leave the check mark on the preloader?
- which button to press for the ROM to be updated?
Thanks in advance!
