Hello Ben

hy

i have downloaded the local ota update zip , 2 times, tried 2 times, but after rebooting when it starts installing after around 3-4 seconds it says error , simply restart, no brick.

BB, i have a question, is this update supposed to be only 38mb? somebody said that he downloaded 200+mb over fota

Hi Bencebacsi!

I'm from Hungary too, and I've got my MAX on monday. I checked the FOTA numerous times since then, but nothing. :-(
I tried with wifi on two different providers at home and at my work, still nothing...

Now I saw the manual OTA update method, but my questions are:
UMi_MAX_20160923_c239v55_kw_u11_update.zip
is only 38.7Mb while the previously linked
20160923_c239v55_kw_u11.rar
is 840Mb.
Why is the big difference in the sizes?
And we will be get the FOTA updates later? It's just an isolated problems with missing update?
Thanks!

Hi
As you can see at this first software is just update that why is small all system is staying the same. In second you have whole completely system in case you need us spft if your phone get brick. First one you need swap to phone memory or sd card and unzip go to settings, about phone, update, in top right press local update and pick zip file and wait. Other is just to use with spft.

It's something wrong about the FOTA update. You definitely should investigate. Sadly, an error occurred when updating locally. Fortunately, the phone did not brick. I think I'll wait a little bit to see if I'll receive the update via FOTA. If not, I'll try the SP Flash method.

It's the same situation here. I tried manual/local OTA update and I received the same error after restart.
My phone is 20160810 firmware, so probably this could be the problem. Probably the local OTA works with 20160819, but not with 20160810.

Edited by Vpnc at 2016-10-5 22:25 \n\nCant do manual update so it's the same for me. 20160810 seems to be totally broken. No FOTA, no manual update, nothing....

With the newest rom (20160923) the fingerprint sensor seems to be very-very weak. Once it is trying to unlock the phone when it is on the table alone, once it doesn't recognize 10-20 consecutive touches. Sometimes,  If I press the power button, the screen goes down, and the fingerprint scanner immediately tries to unlock it -buzz several times- and in the end of course without success: "Too many attempts..."
With the old rom (20160810)  it was perfect.
Has anyone met this issue?

I am having the same issue, where the update fails to install with the little android and 'error' showing, but nothing else. I am on the 2016810 version as well.
