Hi,
I also had the 0810 rom, so the update.zip, provided by bencebacsi did not work.
I had to use SPFT. The only bit I struggled with was the drivers. I have Windows10 64bit, and i followed every instruction, but SPFT would not recognise the phone. In the end, I came across someone saying that it might work if connected to a USB 2 port. I switched to a different laptop, with the same OS, and USB 2 ports. I installed just the MediaTek drivers provided (i.e., Mediatek_Driver_Auto_Installer_1.1352.00.rar). Before doing this, you have to disable the digital driver signature verification! Make sure that your phone is off, and not connected. I then installed the drivers by opening a Command Prompt, as an Administrator, and after navigating to the location of the extracted drivers, I ran the Mediatek-Drivers-Install.bat, via the command line. I accepted the prompts to install the drivers, and as it was running I connected my phone. It seemed to continue installing another driver, and then I turned on the phone, for it to pick up the requirement for further drivers. Once everything had been installed and the command had come to an end, I turned off the phone and disconnected it from the PC.
I then started up SPFT, and pointed it to the scatter file, in the extracted files, from the supplied rom (i.e., 20160923_c239v55_kw_u11.rar). With the phone off and disconnected, I click the Download button in SPFT. A few seconds later I connected the phone, but did not turn it on. SPFT started the download.
Having completed the Download, I disconnected the phone, and tried to wipe that cache partition, following the instructions here:
UMI Forum
I tried to do this but found that if I started the phone, whilst holding vol-down and power (for 20 seconds), it takes me to the Factory Mode menu, with the following options:
Auto Test
Manual Test
Item Test
Test Report
Debug Test
Clear eMMC
Version
Reboot
I don't think this is the correct menu, and although the volume keys move back and forth through the menu, I cannot work out what key is to select anything! I could only hold in the power button, until it turned itself off.
Instead I tried holding the vol-up and power keys (for 20 seconds). When I let go of them, I get the picture of the Android laying down, with a red warning triangle positioned over its chest. I believe this is how I am meant to get to the Recovery Menu, but again cannot work out what buttons/keys I am supposed to press to get to it.
For now, I can start the phone and use it. The rom did install correctly. I just can't get to the recovery mode, to wipe the cache partition.
Any Ideas? |
