the camera is always so bad that my samsung s3 is very fare away than the umi super.
onther real problèm is the direct wifi. it is not working at all: you can find the other phone and pair but you can't send or receive anything.

I just can't get the SPFT to start flashing. I plug in the turned off phone, it appears in the device manager for app. 3 seconds but nothing happens.

I can keep the power button pressed for as long as I want, all it does it that the phone switched between being off and displaying the umi link to the world screen.

SPFT doesn't respond to the phone at all

Hi all, I noticed a few bugs (refer to my previous post). As Bencebacsi suggested that we do the firmware update via SPFT with the new firmware 10-Aug. But this didn't help and the phone was sluggish and I saw no improvement in the OS and the touch screen lacked performance. So I downgraded with the SPFT to the old update which is about 7-Aug and the touch screen and other performance greatly boosted. I request to Bencebacsi to convey these bugs to upstream developers to fix this as soon as possible. I really like this phone as most of the users of this phone do but these bugs need to be addressed. Also Can any one tell me if they got any problem with the USB connectivity under the MTP role of the device??? My Windows 10 laptop connected it first time but after that it says that "couldn't start the device'. I will show the error shortly

Hi, you need to do the following:
First make sure that the driver is correctly working. You can verify if by disconnecting the cable, turn of the cell phone, open up device manger and connect the cable only but dont press the power button. you will see that device manager should show the driver for a single second. this needs to be done fast. if you see Unknows device then remove the driver from there and install the autoinstall Mediatek drivers.

To install the update using SPFT do this:
1) remove the cable
2) turn off the cellphone
3) load the scatter file. UNTICK the preloader option! IMPORTANT
4) press the download button but you will see no activity as there is no cable connect
5) now only connect the cable dont press the power button
6) you will see that the firmware is transferred.

This method worked for me. But make sure that you have drivers installed properly

Hi, I experience a BIG problem here.

I could not flash this ROM in the "normal" way:
* I discovered that the SPFT flash would start only  if I hold down vol+ while connecting.
* I also got the BROM ERROR, which I bypassed by using a preloader binary from an older firmware (20160708)

But this lead to big trouble...

Currently the touch screen is unusable, if I touch up, the phone registers my touch in the center, if I touch center, it registers it down, in some places it doesn't register anything at all. I can't even insert my SIM's PIN, if I push 2 it gets 0 and such...

I tried flashing older ROMs, 20160708 and 20160616, even with format+download, still the problem remains: the touch screen does not work anymore.

My UMI Super is brand new, received it a couple days ago. If I remember correctly it had 20160825 firmware. I decided to try an older ROM because I got many random reboots.

Maybe my phone has a different touch screen which requires special drivers?

Maybe I found why there is poor response from touch screen and not correct respond from light sensor at evening or gray light.
I found that in my device is poor response from light sensor at evening or gray light (all the time is showing 0.0 lux). I found that when I pointed phone in to light direction everything is fine but needs to be facing in to light. Probably light sensor is mounted very dip as at Sunlight I saw sensor under glass and looks that is mounted very deep.
Last time I was playing with phone and I was using different futures from phone and when I switched on lock screen I found " smart lock" which is using some body sensors probably those sensors are in edges of screen that why I have problems with screen response when phone is not in hand and is on table etc. and probably last update activated those sensors.
Could you confirmed this theory?
As some people complained about GPS, Wi-Fi, I checked in my device and GPS and Wi-Fi is perfect in my phone and I don't have any problems there.
For me important issues which should be fixed are :
1. Light sensor if is possible adjust sensitivity at very low light.
2. Screen response
3. Flash on camera to be not switched off when is low battery
4. Replace one sim data short cut from short cut list to hot spot (tethering) as there is no need be two same short cuts. I tried add screen shot with those short cuts but I don't know how to add. One is exactly on the centre of short cut list is showing network signal and this one is very handy other is on bottom right of short cut list and this one could be replaced with hotshot short cut.
5. Try fix bug at deep sleep as phone sometimes is hard to wake up after deep sleep
6. Try fix information from CPU-Z app
I must say that this phone is the best in class just one issue is a bit heavy as I compare to ulefone power with 6000 mah battery.

Be good to umi support, add beta (testing firmware) to all user, just fix it what not good working.

To my umi super (stock in europe) all good working.

Unfortunately I do not have any printscreen.

I do not have any firmware to share either, I hope UMI support will post a beta version or the latest OTA.
