This is the SP Flash Tool version of the
V3.01_20160726 firmware
for UMI London (first release)

Flash tool operation is recommended for experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!
UMI London receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricekd your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again.

Changelog:
first release

Resources:

Flashtool tutorials: UMI Forum or androidxda guide or YouTube guide (you can google a lot of other solutions and guides)

ROM: w370_dj198010_wcdma_20160726_songlixin_PC.rar - Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6580_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other elements

SPFT: SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1628.rar (use this one instead of the old version linked in the UMI forum guide)

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMI London if the standard method doesn't work. It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop.
1. Connect your UMI London to USB.
2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.
3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.
4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

Hi Bencebasi:

I have been enjoying my UMi London except for the occasional pop-ups from System UI for gameware that I don't want.  Also, the GPS location device (software seems to work) seems to have stopped working recently.  My ROM version is listed as  V3.01_20160719.  I have been looking at various forums and found several references to a malware file embedded in encrypted form in the ROM (called spende.zip) for both London and Diamond phones.  Those references were from early 2016.

I thought that flashing my London ROM to a more recent version and then turning off OTA updates might fix/remove the Gameware pop-ups or allow me to remove/replace the System UI app.  Is there a more recent version of the ROM other than the one you have posted here (V3.01_20160726)?  I use TWRP as well for flashing.  Seem to work OK for me.

Do you (or others) have any quick advice or alternative solutions?

Thanks.

Hi,

Unfortunately I don't have a London in hand for testing but I was working a lot with the Diamond and there are 3 other Diamonds among my friends. No one of us has ever get any ads or malware popping up on the screen. I extracted all parts of the spende.zip file but couldn't find any infections in them with virus scanners.
I suggest you to flash this ROM here with SP Flash Tool in firmware upgrade mode to erase everything on your phone and to get a clean installation of the system software. If you've done, do not restore any kind of backup (not even a google backup) but download and install your apps again, one by one. Restore (sync) only your contacts, calendar events etc. but not the apps and apps data.

HI:
Thanks for the reply and advice.  It's always possible that I may have donwlloaded some app that surreptitiously "updated" my System UI to keep giving me these pop-ups.  :-(  I'll try the updated ROM you have made available above (V3.01_20160726) and let you know how I make out.  I'll use Flash Tool.

Thanks again.

Hi,
You should flash (install) a ROM with the same base version (like this one is 3.01) that you had on your phone originally.
