IRON V1.5 ROM download link and change log
1. Flipcover is fountion now (support turn/off screen when open/close)
2. Enhance the connectivly of USB compatibility with IRON ( some people has problem with connecting with UMI USB cable)
3. Bug fixed about deivce reboot/stuck when turn the volume to MAX
NOTE: The Update will be via OTA!

If you are having problem with installing via OTA
You can try download the ROM here and flash with ROOTJOY, or install with TF card:
Iron_1.5_20150825135307_83278.zip
Install ROM with the SD-card:

-Copy file with the update on the External SD-card. Be sure that the name of the file is«ota-update».
-Unplug USB cable. Be sure that the battery has at least 50% charged.
-Go the Settings.
-Press “About phone” => “System updates” => “Start update”
-Wait several minutes. During this time phone will be restarted few times.
-Enjoy !

Install with Flashtool:
Flashtool installation manual: UMI Forum or androidxda guide or YouTube guide (you can google a lot of other solutions and guides)
ROM: Y900_UMI_V1.5_20150808_1737.rar
SPFT: SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1532.rar (use this one instead of the old version linked in the UMI forum guide)
VCOM driver: MT65x3_USB_VCOM_drivers.zip (still compatible with MT67xx phones)

\n\nI updated for the last version and...

- The restart problem when we increase the level of sound (volume/MAX) still there. System freeze, crash and restart.- The sound when we listen music with headphones (With great quality) still with noise and distortion.

- I check it now and there is a problem with the magnetic, giroscope and some other orientation Sensors in the UMI IRON.  The compasses don't work here.

- The quality of frontal and back cameras still with no quality of 13Mp sony camera lens and with no quality of 8Mp camera.

- When i record a video, the recorded sound have some noise and distortion.

- When i'm in camera app to take a picture, the phone is in horizontal and i press the button to change to frontal camera the app crash and exit.

- The phone stays very very warm when i have the 4G or Wifi connected! And when i have it charging the charger and phone get high temperatures too.

- Flipcover problem still there yet.

- U Health is not work so good that it worked before the update to V1.5

- GPS is not precise

Thats a very nice device but there is some errors in the software.
Please, try to solve this big problems in next update.

After installing V1.5 (just about 7 MB from OTA), sound seems to be OK now, although not sure if it was the update. I’ve changed speaker and mic levels in engineer mode before.
Eyprint works OK. Camera seems better but still some improvements can be done.
U Health works OK, but stress measure is hard to do. I can barely hold my hand still to finish the measurement. Heart rate is the same as measured with dedicated device.


What does not work:
1.        Flipcover – closing and opening has no effect, or maybe something more must be done? Maybe it’s something with my device?
2.        Turning off software buttons.
3.        Not sure if RootJoy fully supports Iron. I can browse phone content but can’t move apps to SD (but I suppose it’s an Android 5 issue). When I click “Flash” it tells me that my device is not supported.
4.        Guest can’t make phone calls but have access to all apps and Engineer Mode.
5.        Still no HotKnot.
6.        No data encryption option (phone storage) in security settings.
7.        There was some information about UV meter, there was also an option in U Health. There is none now.
8.        There is no gps.conf file. GPS fix could be faster if there is at least NTP server provided.

What settings did you use for the sound and mic levels, what did you actually change? Because I still have the problem with restarts and crashes

Hi kavil,
BEFORE YOU START: be careful and be sure what you're doing.
I take no responsibility for any damage caused by inappropriate settings.
That said:
In "Hardware Testing > Audio > Normal Mode" chooose "Mic" and "Level 0". Then I set value to 180 and for "Sph" to 120.
In "Loudspeaker mode" the Mic is already 255, and I've chanded Sph > Level 0 to 100.
That helped with microphone issues. The caller now can hear me speaking, and I can hear them a bit louder.

Not sure what settings you have, but you could try and play with them.
But be sure to take notes of current settings before changing anything.
Setting wrong values may lead to complete silence or demaging speakers so be careful.
Try to set the values +10 to what you already have, restart phone and make a call to check if it is ok.
If it is to quiet, add another 10 and so on.
I just changed "Mic", "Sph" (not Sph2) and "Ringer" values (that because I think it was to quiet).

The above helped with poor microphone in calls.

For audio in music playback you should go to:
1. Hardware Testing > Audio > Headset Mode
2. Choose "Media"
3. Set "Max Vol." to 80

You don't have to change anything else. Leave Values for Levels as they are.
Just change the Max Vol, it should be loud enough. The phone won't hang or restart, and you won't hear buzz or hum.
