This is the SP Flash Tool version of the

v3.01_20160708 firmware

for UMI Super

Flash tool operation is recommended for experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!

UMI Super receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricekd your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again.

Flashtool tutorials: UMI Forum or androidxda guide or YouTube guide (you can google a lot of other solutions and guides)

ROM: 20160708_c239v55_kw_u1.rar - Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6755_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other elements

SPFT: SP_Flash_Tool_Win_v5.1620.rar (use this one instead of the old version linked in the UMI forum guide)

VCOM driver: MT65x3_USB_VCOM_drivers.zip (still compatible with MT67xx phones)

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMI Super if the standard method doesn't work. It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop.

1. Connect your UMI Super to USB.

2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.

3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.

4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

I am not able to do WIFI update after i have installed Custom Recovery. Does that mean i have to download install this complete ROM. Also i have noticed that the touch sensitivity for the phone is not good, had to hard press 2 or 3 times for it to work.
The screen protector that i had ordered with the phone does not fit the screen properly, at the edges it seems to not fit because of the curve nature of the screen. What kind of screen protector would be best to save from scratches.

Hello,

Major problems for me :
- 3G/4G connectivity on "Free" carrier/operator in France, Paris suburbs, location. The throughput is slow, very slow...
Compare to my old phone (Honor6), this is very catastrophic...I don't know if it's EMEI problem, but please correct this !

- GPS is just unusable, sometime position is good but a little bit  in late (30 meters) and the most of the time, it recalculate the way to destination because he don't find the correct position.
If I use an GPS App like "Waze" this is a nightmare, because due to connectivity problem of  (3G/4G) the recalculation time is very long !!!!

I hope that is software problems because you have convinced me with your arguments to use all the hardware components coming from best providers.

Thanks in advance for your effort to correct those problems as soon as you can.

I agree 100% with you. My Umi super also breaks 3G/4G connectivity all the time, it is impossible to simply receive whatsapp notifications for example. It takes a life to receive messages even with app under operation. Horrible! The GPS also is totally broke, it's jump all the time, it is impossible to use it no matter if the app is Waze or GoogleMaps, or any other. I am totally frustrated with Umi Super so far. The major problems were not fixed after update which happened 1 month ago and nothing else was released about new updates! Terrible customer service, no news from Umi, no response for anything.

Quick Review:

- New battery settings (good )
- Battery drain is higher (than last FOTA )


- Camera (better in low light, but not super )


- GPS (the same, good for Portugal )

Camera needs more improvements.

\n\n- photos on camera still dark and not clear.supose it is zoom problem.
   when taking moving pictures,photo is not clear at all.
- gps is a little bit better for Israel but still many jumps while nevigating and losing correct location.(although voice directions is correct.
- sd card is losing connection and applications cannot be operated. (sygic and igo did not work ,i had to install them again but still maps could not be loaded due to disconnection from sd.
- no video icon.
- battery is good.
- all other apps are perfect

A lot of improvements can bee seen with the last version of firmware I finally do not have a problems with responsiveness of the screen and I can see that the camera and speakers are working better. Of course some parts which has been recently implemented (battery saving etc.) are not yet fully translated to other languages than English, but I hope that it is going to change with next updates.

From my personal point of view, it'd be good as well to place in toolbar the button which would switch automatically sim card responsible for data transfer (or at least to implement some widget for it). For now each time it is needed to go to Settings>Sim Cards and switch it manually.

I confirm that the GPS for some reasons keep disconnecting and jumping.

So far no problems with Swiftkey, so i guess that this isn't a firmware problem... but let's see

Still can choose the ringtone, as long as I'll put it directly in Ringtones folder in internal memory of my phone

I am really curious what upcoming months are going to bring !

Battery drain: I have ONE HOUR less of "screen on time" than with previous fw!!!

QuickCharge: with this fw the QC does not seem to work. It takes more or two hours to do a full charge (from empty)

Camera: it seems to take a few better images (but not SUPER camera!!!). It still needs a lot of improvements.

Gps: I never had problem with GPS, but with this FW it seems to take lower signal than with previous fw.

come on umi, it´s still worse. had an infocus M560 which is unbeliveable in comparisson to the super.
working gps, sensational camera, no idle drain, nice volume.....
now i´ve a useless super, useless to use as telephone as the volume is much to low
useless as navigation system as the gps is worse
useless as music player as bluetooth has dropouts

seems that infocus is going to be a global player and umi will stay a chinese company

Since the last OTA there is a clear issue with battery drawning. The main problem is that WIFI consumes even when it is switched off. And this drain the battery much faster than before.
Is it possible go back to the previous version?
Will this problem be fixed?

Super Amoled Style ultra saving mode not working proper. Have the battery profile on - my mode - and noticed that when I activate WiFi under phone settings menu and deactivated back, in my mode profile remains active and is consuming the juice. Have to turn it off from the battery saver menu too.
