I've set my wifi-router to a fixed channel now instead of Autoscan.
Let's see how that goes.

Disabling Auto Channel Scan did not solve the problem.

Next test: Channel Width to Auto....

Static ip? That could be another thing to try.
Good luck. My iron is connecting without issues so I'm running out of ideas for you. Sorry!

Hi cornelisdigitaa, please see below reply from UMI when I asked them directly before joining this community.

to me
Hello,

There is no solution about it, it seems to be signal power issue, it depends of the wifi chip used on the phone and the wifi type used on your internet box, on your internet box you can change the signal type and the canal used but for this you have to contact your internet provider in order to know how to do it.

Best regards.

Too bad that don't tell you what to change these settings TO.

I have now tested my phone on 2 other locations and the problem still persists. I don't know the make/model of the WIFI routers on these 2 locations (the owners did not even know where they were located )

This looks like it is mainly a phone problem or else these other two routers should have exactly the same settings as mine?

Can anyone from UMI please shine a light on this???

with the V05 ROM , I do not have this problem , but sometimes you need to flash the firmware 2 times what I had to do ( camera not work the first time , which is me already happened with a new samsung rom, it happens often), i think data poorly cleared during formatting

It was a combination of UMI's cheap antenna and my D-Link router. Changed routers and problem was solved!

Edited by avalon at 2016-1-24 01:14 \n\n Edited by avalon at 2016-1-23 18:55 \n\nI have recently bought the UMI eMax mini smartphone, and it has a wireless connection problem too.

Things I have done so far:
Rebooted my Netgear router
Restarted the phone, several times
Changed the wireless channel from Auto, to 5 then 3 then 2 etc
Turned on Mobile Data
Taken the sim card out , cleaned it and replaced

Wireless is turned on, but there is no wireless connection, except only very occasionally for a few seconds, then it goes off again.

I have 3 other wireless devices which can connect by wireless without having to change any settings.

Has anyone managed to solve this problem, by any means?

Just an update here.
Today I asked a guy who repairs mobile phones to have a look for me. He stripped the phone down, removed the battery and checked the wifi antenna was seated correctly, which it was. Then he did a hard reset of the software, but still no wifi connection.

So by my logical deduction, it can only be or something wrong with the wifi chip, as has been said above.
