This is the SP Flash Tool version of the

v3.01_20160616 firmware

for UMI Super

Flash tool operation is recommended for experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!

UMI Super receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricekd your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again.

ROM: 20160616_c239v55_kw_u1.rar - Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6755_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other elements

SPFT: SP_Flash_Tool_Win_v5.1620.rar (use this one instead of the old version linked in the UMI forum guide)

VCOM driver: MT65x3_USB_VCOM_drivers.zip (still compatible with MT67xx phones)

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMI Super if the standard method doesn't work. It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop.

1. Connect your UMI Super to USB.

2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.

3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.

4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

Secured boot.img

The factory boot images of UMi Super ROMs are insecured (unlocked), that make some security sensitive apps (banking apps typically) useless since they refuse to run with a root access alert.

To solve a such issue, you may replace the factory boot image by the following secured (locked) one. Just download this image file, then in the flasher window double click on the path field of the boot partition and brows for this file.

dude first up thanks for being around to post about the problem before I bricked my phone,
the file you shared is missing again! where did you find the original ?
I'm going to revert to the old firmware then use the FOTA when the new Firmware comes out next week.
If that doesn't work I'll be getting a full refund.

and @bencebacsi Thank you for the thread, your dedication to customer service is awesome although I really believe you should return to some previous threads and admit to those poor individuals the screen issue is not one of poor storage with sellers causing humidity leaching in, it's the firmware! You say you only need this in case of emergency, an emergency like our phone manufacturer putting out faulty firmware? Seriously PEEVED at UMI!!! Some of us have jobs to do that require FUNCTIONAL phones! We are not Beta testers!!!!

Just tried updating via wireless to the latest v3.01_20160616.

The phone downloads the update, switches off and then on again and shows an error! message and nothing else happens.  A few seconds later it
resets and comes back up with old version running and no update has occurred.

Any ideas why....?

I've just tried to flash full ROM to solve couple of problems.

Unfortunately my phone is a brick right now.

I've done everything step by step as shown in this article.
Installed the drivers, SPFT, Downloaded ROM.

Started flashing process, but SPFT stuck on 20% - right now 15 minutes

Vcom driver provided in here its old version 1.0.1121.0
Which doesn't seems to be working correctly with win 10 x64 and latest SPFT - SPFT stucks on "Flash 20%"

Vcom driver that I have found 1.0.1352.0 solved the problem - my brick it's fully working now.

1. With third party app , for example open camera, the camera preview is very dark and it is not possible to control the camera parameters. Only with the stock camera it is possible to control the camera parameters.
2.The phone switches to 3g even if 4g signal level is good enough in fact if I force 4g only in engineer mode the bars of the signal are almost full.

Flashing went OK, but in Recovery there is a menu with 6 options only in Chinese. How can I know which one is wipe the cache, etc?

I followed the instructions below the Green Bar, but when i hold the powe
r button for more than 10 seconds, it just keeps turning off and on again, the flash tool doesnt do anything.
