Hi BB,

Just updated to Android 7 on my UMI PLUS. The 'switch access' is missing.
Can you please advise how to re-assign the home button on this version? Is there an APK for just the 'switch access' that we can download?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,

The 'switch access' feature is not missing in Android 7 but you should login with your google account, open the play store and wait until the updates get downloaded. Unfortunately the home button is not re-assignable in any version but you can find third party apps, that might work.

Hey BB,

Not sure where the feature is in Android 7. Can you please advise?
Image attached of my Accessibility menu. I have tried many different third party button re-assign apps. None work.

Install Google TalkBack to get the Switch Access option in the Accessibility settings. In some ROM versions that app is not pre-installed.

Edited by shadimar69 at 2016-12-30 14:21 \n\nThank you BB!

I am still having trouble with the 'finger print scanner touch home' button. I am able to get the bottom left hardware button to re-assign, however every time I try and assign/select the finger print touch button, the touch goes back to the home screen and does not 'select' or read the 'home touch button' ID. Is there a way make this button readable? It seems to be baked into the ROMS code. If I root the device, is there a way to halt this buttons function?

You can use Buttons remapper for advanced options but the fingerprint scanner cannot be reassigned, only pressing the home button.

Thanks for the info BB, however the only button I really need to re-assign is the finger print scanner touch. I am going to root and see if i can modify the Generic.kl file.

Sorry but you won't be successful. The fingerprint scanner is not a button or key.

very nice solution, hopefully on the next software update you either remove the menu button or include th option to re-assign this button like what Xiaomi does
