Dear shornik,

UMi ships new Android versions together with new product models. Existing models receive updates of the original Android versions only. For example, the successor of Rome X is Touch X, that's shipped with Android 6 system but that also won't receive an Android 7 upgrade.

The kernel source code is held by MediaTek and as per their policy, they don't make it public.

Hi:

I noted today that Android Security updates have been issued regularly since June 2015 (http://www.techrepublic.com/arti ... 1&bhid=60749362).  On checking my Rome, I find that the Android security patch level is listed as 2015-12-01.  I am also running Kernel version 3.10.65+.

I note that the apparently most recent ROM update available on RootJoy is 3.04.0325 (which I have installed using TWRP), while in this forum the most recent ROM appears to be 3.05.

Does anyone know how I can update my Rome to a more recent security patch level?  I'd appreciate the help.

buen dia, compre con emoción mi umi rome x pero no tengo cobertura en 3g y mi navegación con datos es lentísima que tristesa, agradecería si en algún momento esto se puede modificar me hagan llegar alguna actualización. Gracias.

This firmware curve. 1) Network Admission deterioration 2) deterioration in reception gps 3) long definition of sim cards 4) functionality makes lutshe wish .. and a plurality of other problems that should be corrected but dosih nothing not corrected, the output of the update over the air as promised just hype ... not suggest targeting to install this firmware

at least an up date to make it work correctly
