Certain apps require the Google Maps shared library to be installed for them to install.

Tools required: adb
Extract the zip files in the same folder as the adbOpen command prompt and run command below

Fix:
  1. adb remount
  2. adb push com.google.android.maps.xml /system/etc/permissions
  3. adb push com.google.android.maps.jar /system/framework
  4. adb reboot
Copy the Code
shared_lib.zip (252.83 KB, Downloads: 30)

OK, I find lots of hi-tech talk in this forum, where you expect the average user to understand this without any explanation what-so-ever.

After some investigation on what "ADB" is (I never heard of it before!!)
( after coming from here incompatibile version

The command lines (which again are not explained!!). After visiting about a dozen websites and eventually finding what this is about. THIS site looks about the most useful:
Use ADB without installing SDK!!!

ONE useful not techie talk, by installing... we are actually talking about the PC... NOT the PHONE!!!!!

Anyway, i eventually installed the "android" folder, copied the shared_lib.zip file into it and run ADB devices and yes, my phone was connected.
I then tried to run the set of commands above, the first one failed... "remount" with error:

"remount of system failed: permission denied
Remount failed"

ANY ideas without sending me off on some other "wild goose chase" (this is defined as going round in circles, with no logical outcome!)

one quick additional note: when i run the "adb devices" command, I got a device (my phone), but this was only because Rootjoy was running! if I exit rootjoy, then I can no longer see the device via "adb devices" command

Hope this helps

Hi,

I already reported ghis issue in order to launch a new rootjoy rom update with this issue solved

if you continue with problems trying intall gapps, here you can find a workaround to install and work with these apps.

You will need root explorer.

First of all you have to search and download affected apks from internet. For example here I'm sharing PayPal apk, one of the affected apks

http://www23.zippyshare.com/v/UtlGCyUX/file.html

After downloading apk, you have to copy this apk file using root explorer on this folder:  /system/priv-apps

To be able to copy apk on this folder you must mount filesystem in R/W ( you have a button inside root explorer to mount that). After copy you must change permissions. Press on apk file and a menu will appear. Select permissions and then check all options of write, read and execute.

After that, restart your phone and apk will be workig. You don't have to install apk, directly will be installed after copy and restart

hello, another method you can do is via Root Explorer, copy those file in your sdcard, from sdcard copy to the specified folder.

For ADB
For the adb tools, I use minimal adb

NOTE:
1. You have to enable USB Debugging under Developer Option
2. To access Developer Option, go to Settings > About Phone > Tap Build number 7 times or more
3. Access the Developer Option to enable USB Debugging
4. Connect your phone to the PC
5. Go to the adb folder reside, use Command Prompt from start menu (run as admin to be safe)
6. See the connection with
  1. adb devices
Copy the Code
7. If there is more than one adb devices in your computer,8. Add -d to every adb command:
  1. adb -d shell
  2. adb -d remount
  3. adb -d etc
Copy the Code

Hope it helps.
I know how frustrated are you because I've trying to solve Umi's problem my own, and did you know how hard it is? It takes me month to post this solution, I'm just an average user like you. Hope you understand.
Good luck

Thanks xiiihyou!
Really appreciate response, we tend to think support is a waste of time!

I installed the program you recommend, minimal ADB, with a similar result. i.e.
remount fails after "permission denied"
I then tried the firs command and get message "failed to copy, as it is "read only"
One bonus, this works without RomJoy not running.

And YES, I have software debug mode running.

AS for Angel_UMI, apk???
- how? where? what? Dont understand, where would I get relevant apk files?

I suggest these steps for you:

Extract the zip files into sdcard, next

1. Download termux
2. Run termux (grant superuser request) with the following command

  1. su
  2. mount -o remount,rw /system
Copy the Code
3. To check which sdcard you have
  1. cd /mnt
  2. ls
Copy the Code
it will list out which sdcard you have and other partition4. if the files in the internal sdcard, it is sdcard, if it is external sdcard, it is sdcard2
5. use the following command to copy and paste
  1. cp /mnt/sdcard/com.google.android.maps.xml /system/etc/permissions
  2. cp /mnt/sdcard/com.google.android.maps.jar /system/framework
Copy the Code
6. to verify if the permission file is there:
  1. cd /system/etc/permissions
  2. ls
Copy the Code
7. to verify if the framework file is there:
  1. cd /system/framework
  2. ls
Copy the Code
8. to exit
  1. exit
  2. exit
  3. enter
Copy the Code
9. restart your phone, clear google play cache, search the apps that is not compatible, it should offer to be installed.
goodluck

I'm talking about another method of being functionally applicatíns that are not compatible in google play.

For example, If you try to install Paypal from google play, you will se that can't be possible because incompatibility is shown

Then I explained before a method of puttin paypal in your device as a workaround copying application file in a specific directory with root explorer
