Edited by holzi1991 at 2016-2-19 02:45 \n\nThe imx214 is the camera chip of the TCL phone. The emax uses an OV8858 from Omnivision on the backside and a gc2755 from I dont know. Unfortunately the only driver I could find, uses the linux camera interface and not the android interface.
Edit: Probably won't work, but did anyone tried combining the Lollipop ROM with the boot.img from the stock ROM? If it boots, it should have a working camera.

That's impossible, of course. I tried to combine the lollipop ramdisk with the stock kitkat kernel but that was impossible to merge them into a new boot.img file.

Just stumbled accross a github repository with the kernel source of Elephone P6000. It contains a driver for the ov8858 camera sensor. Maybe we can compile it and run it on the Emax.

Some ARM64 defconfigs for MT6752, with settings for OV8858.

Did anyone tried this method?

Or is it useless?

Yes, it's useless. The recent versions of the multi port flash tool don't support the driver selecetion feature since they can be loaded automatically if the firmware contains them. In this case the firmware doesn't contain them.

I installed this lollipop rom and installed gapps on it (open_gapps-arm64-5.0-pico-20160817.zip) and it works really good... Nobody can get the camera drivers from somewhere and put into the kernel to have a fully functioning phone?
If someone does not need camera, i think it good for daily usage
