Yes I've done ###2324#!
I am having trouble getting both of my computers (Win7, Win8) to install the specific QualComm driver. When I right-click (in Explorer) on qcmdm.inf and choose "Install", I get the error "The INF file you selected does not support this method of installation".

My Windows, by the way, already loads up a driver for the phone - "RELINK HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM7)". When I ask Windows to "Update Driver Software..." to replace it with the QualComm's version, it tells me that "Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date." So this method if installation doesn't work either.

In some online resources, it says that the download of QCN should be working OK as long as the Windows can see the phone using the driver - in my case "RELINK HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM7)". It seems like it can see it, because the QPST software shows this:


However, when trying to download I get the erro "Port does not contain a Phone in Diagnostic Mode":



I've done a Google search for these errors but in English there's nothing useful.

instead of using QPST uses QFIL I have windows 7 and I was able to copy the file with qcn qfil as in the guideBut do be careful because ' I had to post the phone for repair are not able to restore the files qcn

Wow this is a huge detail to leave out of the original post.. now that I have bricked my phone trying to figure out what the heck was going on. DIdn't read the whole thread and it shouldn't necessarily be expected..

Well, the creator of this tutorial is definitely not an expert. I've provided it here (since it came from UMI) however, I'm sorry to say that but I didn't take the effort to work with this crap and my mind won't change in the future.

I don't blame you haha.. but I was finally successful! Big lesson here for me was that with this procedure cable length and quality matters (as it does often with phones) and the com port bit above. Those are what saved my a$$! :-) so thanks!

That's the standard error I was getting also. I was able to solve it by switching to a shorter and sturdier USB cable. YMMV of course but it worked for me

I noticed that the official roms are out in rootjoy. How do I revert my phone so I can install the official roms? (from tcl back to umi)

I remember seeing a tutorial or a comment about it but cant find it....

No, those are TCL ROMs and you only can download them by Rootjoy but not install them with Rootjoy. You can revert your phone by any flashtool ROM packages, that you can download from the ROM section.

I tried wtih a different usb cable but im still getting the same error
