This is the SP Flash Tool + OTA release of the

V3.0_20210330 system software

for

UMIDIGI A7 Pro 64GB

Flash tool operation is recommended to experienced users only. If you are not yet an experienced flash tool user, please carefully read the flash tool tutorial before proceeding, and strictly follow each instruction.

Except if an authorized or responsible expert directly asked you to do that,

never format the flash chip of your device or you instantly lose your warranty!

UMIDIGI A7 Pro receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricked your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again. Moreover, flashing with SPFT is the only option to repair (replace) damaged system software.

Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6763_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other components

VCOM driver: Windows 10 can automatically install it. Please make sure that your Windows is logged in with administrator rights and your computer has a working internet connection when first time connecting your phone.

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMIDIGI A7 Pro if the standard method doesn't work.

It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop

1. Connect your UMIDIGI A7 Pro to USB.

2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.

3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.

4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

OTA (recovery) update

Manual (local) OTA update method instructions

• Copy the downloaded .zip file to the internal storage of your phone
• Go to Settings → About phone → Wireless update
• Tap the 3-dot menu button in the top right corner and select Local Updates
• Brows for the ...update.zip file and select it
• Select INSTALL NOW, then OK in the Warning window. Your phone reboots into recovery, the update gets installed, then your phone boots into Android. Your updated system is ready to use.

It can update version 20201213 only

Optional method (in case if the manual OTA update gets stuck): Install from recovery

You need a microSD card (with at least 4GB capacity) installed in your phone!

• Copy the ...update.zip file to your SD card.
• Press and hold the volume-up and power buttons together until your phone restarts in the boot selector mode. It needs about 10 seconds or a little bit less if your phone was already powered off.
• Here you can move with the vol-up button and select an item with vol-down. Select Recovery.
• Your phone boots into Recovery and you see a lying android figure with an exclamation mark in red triangle on its tummy + 'No command'.
• Press and hold the power and vol-up buttons (in this order) together, then release them to call the recovery menu. Now you can move with both volume buttons, and select an item with the power button.
• Move to ‘Apply update from SD card’ and select it.
• On the next screen brows for the update file and select it. The update process will start and needs a few minutes to be finished.
• After a succcessful installation, you can read the ''Install from SD card complete.'' message and the recovery menu is available again.
• Select 'Reboot system now'. Alternatively you can perform a factory data reset here by choosing 'Wipe data/factory reset'
  

Kind request from users:
Please report any kind of new issues you experience after installing this update only if you've already flashed this ROM with SP Flash Tool in Firmware Upgrade mode. In rare cases a FOTA update can cause more or less serious malfunctions but that means only the update process went wrong, not a badly developed ROM. An updated stock ROM, especially related to the basic functions will not cause any new issues but will solve some of the existing ones.

A second issue I have had with this phone unrelated to this FW release and since day one is that it never connects to a 4G or 4GLTE signal when making calls. When no calls are being made and just using data it is connected to a 4G signal, but as soon as I make or receive a call it switches to 3G signal. I'm on AT&T and they will soon be discontinuing their 3G services, I even got an email from them saying my phone will no longer work with AT&T once this happens. I know I have 4G and 4GLTE in my area because my old BLU phone was always on 4G or 4GLTE. Is Umidigi doing anything to fix this? The specs state that it should work just fine on 4g and 4gLTE, so why does my phone never make calls with 4g/LTE?

I bought this phone to upgrade from my old BLU phone and I'm starting to wish I hadn't bought it now. This is a real shame because I actually like the phone a lot.

After this update I noticed lots of bug:
1) Battery drains faster than usual
2) Phone heats up unnecessarily
3) Most times apps lag, freeze or even exit when opened at first (This one annoys me the most cause it's like rendering the boasted 4GB RAM useless)
4) Sometimes overall functions of the device lag heavily; Have turn-off screen and turn back on or restart in some cases.
5) Front camera quality drastically reduced.
All these make the device feel worthless and I really love this brand.

I regret downloading and installing this update. Please you guys should do something about these bugs. Thank you

The EEA version of the A7 Pro may or may not receive this or further updates, currently I can neither confirm nor refute that. The EEA and global versions are perfectly compatible, it's only not allowed for a distributor to sell a phone with global version in the EEA region but as an end-user, you can install any official and compatible software version on your phone.

Hey guys!
I'm having trouble updating, an error appears when unzipping. I tried with a .zip file in the device's memory and on the sdcard. Can anyone tell me how to eliminate these annoying things?

I noticed an improvement in the camera, but there is still room for improvement. Although this update gave a better fluidity, I noticed the following problems: Always slow in the camera when in low light, freezes and crashes in the gallery, in chrome and during some download. All of these problems have occurred since first use in August 2020.
Many users and I believe that Umidigi can improve in software and grow a lot. The construction and finishing has been the subject of applause.At the moment, the A7 Pro is my second phone because of these problems, and the old one is still better to use. But, I liked the quality of the photos and videos, I just don't like the video audio

Unfortunately the EEA version phones can't take any updates anymore It's really frustrating, because I have an EEA, too

That's great news! Could you tell me how should I approach the conversion from EEA_V3.0_20201025 to non-EEA firmware? Should I use SP Flash Tool method from the first post?

Yes, you can make it done only with SPFT but you can flash without the userdata partition.
