Hi there!!

A little question here... Can you update an EU mobile with a V1.7_20200430 ROM - to the latest v1.9 ROM? OTA update does not show any new version and I was thinking on trying a manual OTA.

For the EU, version 1.7.20200430 is the latest.
Version V1.9. is for global version only. You need to upload a new ROM for the global version via SP Flash Tool. The EU version is no longer supported.

A new device has appeared while checking the Home Network (Eset Mobile Security). Only using a Mac address did I find out that it was an A5 Pro. This name appeared after the last update.

Hi, Yes, you can but only with SPFT flashing. Manual OTA update of an EU version to global version is not possible.

I am also from Europe.
You need to upload Global ROM version with the SP Flash Tool. The current version (full ROM) is available in the introduction, also with a description.

Then you will have the current version, no need to update.

I've just read the Flash tool tutorial:

If I am not wrong, if you select flashing mode "Download Only", you won't lose your user data and the installed programs. It would be as an OTA install. Am I correct?

I'd prefer not to lose all these things, it's very boring having to install from scratch everything again...
