We have three phones A5 Pro, A7 Pro and A9 Pro and I am very satisfied with them. I agree, Android has bugs, but that is what Google itself does. Android is the most faulty operating system (for example, WIN 7 is less faulty than WIN 10). Why ? Simply long-lasting development captures the mistakes that manifest themselves.
Be aware of how much the phone costs. The price-performance ratio is great. It should be taken into account that not everything will work 100%. Other manufacturers S ... g, H ... i (older version), L ... o, X ... i use their own superstructure to catch system bugs.

I don't miss the manufacturer's superstructure. I don't need applications that I don't use, they just update unnecessarily and take up space.

Gcam ... an exaggerated application from Google, and is HW intensive. There are many handy other applications. You just have to try. I draw attention to the capabilities of the optics and especially the MediaTek processor. The application can guarantee 100 MP, but the processor cannot process such a request.

I follow the direction of Umidigi and think that such low prices offer great phones. If you are a demanding user, this is not a good choice.

I bought A7 Pro 64GB on Aliexpress, and recently it stopped loading, so I decided to flash it. I connected the phone to the PC, found the Mediatek PreLoader USB VCOM port, then launched the SP Flash Tool, selected the scatter from the firmware folder, and it was successfully flashed.
I turn on the device - there are no signs of life, and then I saw that I was flashing the 128Gb version (UMIDIGI A7 PRO 128GB EEE V1.4_20201025 ROMSOFT + OTA).

I wanted to flash the normal version for 64Gb, but now when connecting to a PC, only the MTK USB Port is visible, through which the firmware process does not even begin. Various tricks with clamping the Volume+ or Volume-when connecting the phone to a PC (to switch it to testpoint mode) do not help to see the Mediatek PreLoader USB VCOM, as suggested here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPBqUmzSYHE

Tell me, please, someone faced a similar problem? Is it possible to revive the phone? Thank you in advance.

Hello. I bought a humidigi A7 PRO 64GB recently by aliExspress, but it came defective. The phone does not turn on and does not charge. The device is in infinite lopp. I researched about it and saw that it could be a software problem. Well, I downloaded the ROM, I did everything right, but the device is not recognized by my computer and I can't find the right drivers. Would you help me?

I upgraded from  April 5, 2020 ROM to UMDIGI_A7 PRO_V3.0-20201213 by the above instructions today, all is good.Small glitch in usb doing upgrade- changed usb ports,download went thru with bootloader looping, all tests good.

Sorry, but just because the product costs little, it is not mandatory to be lousy. The positive aspects of the A7 Pro are the price, the main and front cameras, RAM, screen and the finishing. The rest is a headache.
I am very demanding but, I make exceptions. However, being held hostage by this situation of settling for bugs, due to the low cost device, is not legal.

I abandoned the A7 Pro. Unfortunately, the device never served me well. Even though it is a low-cost device, it should serve any user who expects satisfactory basic use of it. But, no satisfactory use provides. Umidigi has to improve the software or, not only use Mediatek in its products. I think this device, which has great cameras in its segment, has a Mediatek P23 and a poorly optimized system. Tired of waiting for updates that solve a good part of the problems, I ended up buying a Galaxy S10 that cost me more, but serves me 100%. The A7 Pro should be a replacement for the Samsung J7 Prime which, despite having a weaker processor and 1 GB less RAM, worked very well.
I am not happy to abandon the A7 Pro. It has basic requirements to be a respectful intermediary, but it has not matured due to the lack of harmony between software and processor.
I hope that in the near future, Umidigi will change its philosophy a little, without increasing its products and be successful in the electronics market.
