I've never had a problem with any updates, not even with other phones. The problem will be elsewhere.

A reset to factory settings will also help.

Hi Umidigi !

I changed the ROM from the EEA to the global version. I do not register any significant problem, everything works as it should.
However, one mistake remains, ROLLING in the Play Store. The application crashes, every time.

I tested the phone for a couple of days after switching from the EU/EEA firmare to this one, and I don't have any issue with the battery here. No issue with the touch screen either. Just the auto unlock feature when I'm at home or near a trusted place that sometimes works, often doesn't.

Spotify still crashing when opening the options and also google play when you scroll down, this has been a problem with the default renderer, been reported for ages, still not working.
It is something with your ROM, when I put LineageOS on the phone, the problem goes away.
When are you going to fix this? I have reported it on twitter, facebook and e-mail and the forums, is it just going to remain unfixed?

We all have the same error, also happens when opening the three dots on Spotify, it is a bug with the renderer, I have reported it countless times to Umidigi, they don't seem interested in fixing this, but yes, it is a problem with their ROM for this phone

have you ever try to flash your umidigi a5 pro on SP tools  then after that it cant open anymore and it no longer detect by ur computer. can you help me to solve.. thanks

Hi zhugieliang1031 !

I assume you have WIN 10. Sometimes it's a problem to detect a cell phone. Try this: https://androidmtk.com/download-mtk-usb-all-drivers

USB drivers for MTK may not appear in Device Manager.

It is important that the phone must be switched off and unplugged. After running the process in the SP Flash Tool (Download Only or Firmware Upgrade) you will connect your phone and it should work.
If not, the problem is with the installation of the USB driver. Try looking for something else.

For those who have the EEA/EU version.
You can safely install this version with the SP Flash Tool. By selecting "Download Only" and deselecting "userdata" partition (always the last one in the list) you will keep all files, applications and settings. I checked personally.

I have the same issue, it´s pretty frustrating. I have to lock and unlock my phone in order to use the screen again
