This is the SP Flash Tool + OTA release of the

V1.1 20200702 system software

for UMIDIGI S5 Pro

European version for EEA countries

Flash tool operation is recommended to experienced users only. If you are not yet an experienced flash tool user, please carefully read the flash tool tutorial before proceeding, and strictly follow each instruction.

Except if an authorized or responsible expert directly asked you to do that,

never format the flash chip of your device or you instantly lose your warranty!

UMIDIGI S5 Pro receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricked your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again. Moreover, flashing with SPFT is the only option to repair (replace) damaged system software.

Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6785_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other components

VCOM driver: Windows 10 can automatically install it. Please make sure that your Windows is logged in with administrator rights and your computer has a working internet connection when first time connecting your phone.

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMIDIGI S5 Pro if the standard method doesn't work.

It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop

1. Connect your UMIDIGI S5 Pro to USB.

2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.

3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.

4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

OTA (recovery) update

Manual (local) OTA update method instructions

• Copy the downloaded .zip file to the internal storage of your phone
• Go to Settings → About phone → Wireless update
• Tap the 3-dot menu button in the top right corner and select Local Updates
• Brows for the ...update.zip file and select it
• Select INSTALL NOW, then OK in the Warning window. Your phone reboots into recovery, the update gets installed, then your phone boots into Android. Your updated system is ready to use.

It can update version 20200422 only

Optional method (in case if the manual OTA update gets stuck): Install from recovery

You need a microSD card (with at least 4GB capacity) installed in your phone!

• Copy the ...update.zip file to your SD card.
• Press and hold the volume-up and power buttons together until your phone restarts in the boot selector mode. It needs about 10 seconds or a little bit less if your phone was already powered off.
• Here you can move with the vol-up button and select an item with vol-down. Select Recovery.
• Your phone boots into Recovery. Now you can move with both volume buttons, and select an item with the power button.
• Move to ‘Apply update from SD card’ and select it.
• On the next screen brows for the update file and select it. The updating process will start and needs a few minutes to be finished.
• After a succcessful installation, you can read the ''Install from SD card complete.'' message and the receovery menu is available again.
• Select 'Reboot system now'. Alternatively you can perform a factory data reset here by choosing 'Wipe data/factory reset'
  

Kind request from users:
Please report any kind of new issues you experience after installing this update only if you've already flashed this ROM with SP Flash Tool in Firmware Upgrade mode. In rare cases a FOTA update can cause more or less serious malfunctions but that means only the update process went wrong, not a badly developed ROM. An updated stock ROM, especially related to the basic functions will not cause any new issues but will solve some of the existing ones.

Enable adb then "adb reboot bootloader"
Then disable verification recovery
"fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img" (original stock rom file)
now we can flash twrp.img as the new recovery
"fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash recovery twrp.img"

Now we have twrp with stock Rom umidigi

For GSI we need to make the .img of gsi a installation zip file and flash it with twrp.
Im busy and dont need a custom rom now but if someone wants to try the zips maked by me or use the tool i useed.

Another way is flasing directly the gsi img file:

-Go to TWRP Recovery mode, Select Wipe in TWRP and then select Format Data. Type yes and then press the check mark.
-Go back, press Reboot and then Recovery. Hold Power and Volume Up and then release Power once you see the logo to boot back into Recovery.
-Go to Wipe again, but this time press Advanced Wipe. Select Dalvik Cache, Cache, and System. Swipe right.
-Transfer your GSI and eventually Magisk zip, and GAPPS to your phone after you've finished wiping.
-Flash your GSI and Magisk, and then flash GAPPS. If you get an error while trying to flash GAPPS, it's fine. Just continue on to the next step.
-Press Advanced and then Close AVB 2.0 . Make sure you check both before swiping.
-Press Reboot and then System, and then boot into Recovery again using Power and Volume Up.
-Reboot again into system from there just wait. Your phone will probably reboot by itself once before booting into your new GSI ROM.
-If GAPPS did not flash the first time, boot back into Recovery and go to Wipe.
-Press Advanced Wipe and press Repair or Change File System. Then Flash your GSI, Magisk, and GAPPS again.


Im trying my best to find all that is already done online forcompatible devices but i hope some one able to do things from scratchs will show up.

I know they said a fix was in this update for FingerPrint scanning,  but I can't see where or how.   I've put in 3 fingerprints for my Thumb (To increase chances of it working), but it still fails to register.  9 out of 10 times my phone can't read my fingerprint?

Prior to the firmware update my fingerprint was actually being registered more accurately and would fail maybe only 2 out of 10 times.

Current list of outstanding issues:

1.  Fix Fingerprint reading correctly
2.  Fix Autofocus on Macro Photos and 4K recording
3.  Fix Audio Syncing When Recording Video
4.  Provide a Modem update for UK (Or update the one on phone to correctly sync with 4G) it's horrible being bounced to 3G in a 4G area (Yes I've set 4G as preferred option).
5. Add WIFI calling ability
6. Make phone certified for Widevine L1 so players like NetFlix can be used at 1080p

Honestly these are simple fixes, and could be completed very quickly, it is a shame.

Hello, I have the following problem: at the bottom of the screen, around the navigation bar, there is an area where the precision of the touch detection is very poor: when i place the finger in that area, the screen detect the touch 3/4 millimiters away from the finger. In the middle of the screen the problem is not present. Checked also with capacitive pen, the issue is very clear and easy to reproduce.

This is very annoying, because sometimes the keyboard in Whatsapp do not pop up (because the touch is detected outside the writing area). Other times, when writing, the screen wrongly detect the finger in the navigation bar and this cause the closing of the app. I have the same problem in another S5 Pro I bought for another person.

I also wrote to the support and i'm waiting for an answer. Anyone with the same issue?

The same issue here...

I'm not surprised. Given that in my case it is present in 2 of 2 phones, I was exactly expecting that someone else would have found it in other phones. For those interested, I've posted here https://drive.google.com/file/d/ ... -o/view?usp=sharing a video of the issue.

Hi,

installed the update some minutes ago and I noticed the following things:

1.) I'm using Nova Launcher. Open the recent apps working fine now, but theres no way to close all apps with one button. On my F1 theres a "X" button below when I open the recent apps which closes all open apps immediately.
2.) On the lockscreen it's not possible to extend message like E-Mails or WhatsApp with a swipe down. I saw some videos who explain how to activate this feature also on Andorid 10 but this setting is missing on my S5 Pro. Working fine on my F1.
3.) When my phone is on vibration mode only the camera sound from WhatsApp still appear when I'm making a picture.

@bencebacsi please ask to enable RAW capture on back camera, we have already Pixel/Google Cam App Mods working for Android 10 and MTK G90T the only that dont work is shooting a HDR photo that is the main difference in quality brought from using google cam mods.

Bokeh/portrait not working, works only at F2, Power 3 Umidigi X, but not on the flagship !

-Video stabilisation EIS definitely also not working in Stock Cam in ROM July
- 4k only limited to 20fps, although Helio G90T and Camera module are able to operate with  30 fps
- All Cam Apps show little  unfiltered noise in the picture,but not the stock. Here someone has increased the noisereduction too much, so in cloudy situations, details look completely washed out-

UWW Camera needs a bit Adjustment - exposure, White balance. If you do this in the google photos App, the UWW is indeed on one level with the huawei p30 pro It would help if UWW could take HDR Photos. The UWW cannot be adressed in third party Camera App  HedgeCam 2, in the F2 it was possible, so one could shoot bright UWW HDR Photos

I ve taken 100 comparison Fotos with my Huawei p 30 Pro, i can generally say, that the camerafirmware is really the best from umidigi as yet. No slight smudgy pictures like in the F2 from  the software deliverer Droi

It is not possible to take videos with the UWW, although the cheap A7 Pro is able to
