Recently, UMIDIGI announced its new flagship phone UMIDIGI S5 Pro. With impressive specs like Helio G90T processor, 256GB storage, and FHD+ AMOLED display, UMIDIGI claims the S5 Pro is its most powerful and beautiful phone ever. Now its first impression video surfaced, you will be also surprised by the video.
As we all know, most flagships this year apply punch-hole display design. Surprisingly, UMIDIGI S5 Pro comes with a pop-up selfie camera to achieve a bezel-less display without a punch hole or notch. It makes the S5 Pro one of the few flagship phones with the true full screen in 2020. The display is FHD+ AMOLED and it has an in-display fingerprint unlock feature.
On the back, UMIDIGI S5 Pro also has a wonderful 3D curved glass design with the nano-holographic texture. You can see gorgeous curves and stunning gloss as if it looks like the shimmering lake, and hold it easily so that you can grab the phone more cozily, good to look at as well.
For other specs, the S5 Pro features Helio G90T gaming processor with a liquid cooling system, 6GB RAM, and 256GB internal storage. The rear camera setup is a 48MP matrix quad-camera system with an ultra-wide-angle lens and macro lens. And it houses a 4,680mAh battery, 18W fast charging, and NFC.

I just received my S5 pro. I like the design, the software is a MESS. Why is there no app drawer? Why do the gestures not work like stock Android 10? It is supposed to have stock Android 10, It is not. When I try to install a launcher for an app drawer the multitask button does not work at ALL. I tried two different launchers with the same result. Someone Please Help. I either have no app drawer searching through 14 pages of apps or no working multitasking. I'm STUCK! Also I saw one add that says wireless charging then one that said it did not? Does it or not?
I just unboxed a brand new S5 Pro. I am impressed with the hardware and the build. The software however, is an absolute nightmare. To the point, where I cam not going to use the phone. I don't think the implementation of Android 10 is correct and/or complete. I have an Umidigi F2 with Android 10 and its great. Absolutely not a hiccup or glitch.. I use Nova Prime on the F2. I installed Nova Prime on the S5 and lost the ability to see "open apps or recent apps". I thought it was a problem with prime so I did a complete factory reset and only installed Nova Prime and nope it does not work. So then I tried three other launchers and they all behave similarly. The only way to maintain the ability to toggle to recent apps or apps still running is with the Quickstep launcher (native to the phone) which is absolute garbage. You cannot even create a folder on the desktop. So, the tech wizards need to fix this quick or this beautiful phone is dead on arrival for millions of people.
Does anyone know if the main 48MP camera is the Sony IMX586 (e.g. the same camera as in the Oneplus 7 Pro)? Or is it the Samsung GM1 (e.g. the same camera as in the Umidigi F2)?
Hi, The recent apps list bug when using a third party launcher will be fixed in the next update. You can set the app drawer style in the settings of the stock launcher (Quickstep), just long touch the screen on an empty area to go into the settings.
As said before, the build quality seems excellent. Appearance great too. But that's just a part. In terms of sofware it seems it needs some work.
In my case, this is what i found.
1. When transferring data from another phone (yes, another Umidigi) and after fighting with Google own issues in that department, I got mostly everything transferred, even the layout configuration in the different screens, but, as the phone was configured by default to work without app drawer, many apps where installed, but not available. The only way was to find them using google search.
2. After changing the desktop mode to the classic drawer mode, all my screens and layouts, groups, etc.. dissapeared !! Not the worst thing to happen, but wasted time Btw same thing happens when you change the Layout display from 4x4 to 5x4 (for instance).. all your apps are gone from the desktop screens.
It seems some have had problems with the popup selfie camera, not me. But haven't really played with it a lot.
I am sure there will be more as I get to use it on a regular basis.
Call Forwarding and Call Waiting can not be activated. I keep getting "Call settings error" and "Network or SIM card error". When i dial *43# I get "Call Waiting Connection problem or Invalid MMI code". I have 3 other umidigi (f1, One Pro and Z2 pro) and both options work fine on all of them.
