no issues for me on audio or anything since 1.2 update..

have you guys wiped your cache partition after doing the wireless updates?? lots of information left over from apps and system junk that will actually make the issues stick around.. give that a shot guys. after doing any updates, especially system updates, wiping the system cache partition through the recovery options will be your best bet. THEN if the problem still hangs around.. try the flash tool but for the love of cake, DO NOT FORMAT!...

spoke too soon - my audio seems to be crappy from the google assistant voice. youtube videos are okay, no sound issues there. definite sound quality decrease when using the google assistant.

before this update my audio was fine, now with some applications it is fine and with others it is not, it does not work well with youtube, with any application and also with the browser, I solved by installing newpipe from f-droid and in the settings I have chose to open the videos in an external application, opening them with vlc allows you to hear audio normally, the other applications that I use and that work badly with the audio are "rai play" and "mediaset play" (Italian television), everything else I use is fine.

Yeah, after having tested nearly every option as a normal user, I am beginning to wonder if this is related to the inserted sim card or location of it?

Did the Umidigi team test with a sim card inserted?

Also, there is something wrong with the sound sliders, sometimes one of them causes the quality to change while(!) playing a video in split screen mode and sometimes one of the sliders cause other sliders to change or there is other unpredictable behavior.

hey hey so i noticed just a few moments ago when my phone was idle - there were some white lines that came across the screen like an old VHS tape tracking was off lol first time i've noticed that.. anyway - possibly something with the video driver / FPS / or refresh?

Ok, tried vlc, quality is always good!

The default player and the browser probably use the internal decoding libraries?

Also power off and power on also fixes the problem for a short period (while playing a video/audio file).

I'd have to agree there. If audio sounds good in Vlc (and before v1.2), there must be some setting that has changed since v1.1 that causes these sometimes very unreliable audio (quality) issues.

So, please keep us informed about further updates and possible fixes, because the phone is worth fixing!

I still have my random reboot issue. But NOW I HAVE THAT SOUND PROBLEM TOO!!!! I never had it before... it's going worse with updates. hourray :|
