Yep. The "AI" is a load of nonsense anyway. The default camera app does not use the AI "acceleration" at all, since it's a licensed technology from MediaTek and costs more money. When you press the AI button, all you're getting is CPU-based detection of the scene.
Not surprised about the macro camera. It probably is just a 2MP sensor after all. We've known for many years that the auxiliary cameras used in these phones are "fake" or very basic sensors.
Despite that, I'm surprised by the quality of the macro shots. There is a lot of noise in low light, but for daytime it's rather pleasing! |
