Hello,

I received my new F1 a few days ago, and I wanted to to update it to the latest version as I use to do for all my devices. Big error so far!

I fist tried  wireless updates, but my phone refused to update classically from online requests or through OTA, as described in this  feed. The process started and then ended inevitably with an error message.
In the end I tried the flash tool, with a flashing process (download option) going to its end with the "V" windows. Then came my disillusion. My phone refused to restart, and I went to many trials to check what has gone wrong. My phone is bricked after the first flash, and the device from then was recognized by my PC only as  "Mediatek usb port" instead of "Midiatek Preloader usb vcom" as it should if it was not bricked.

And the flashing process returns only the same error message  after more or less 5 minutes as shown in the copy screen, indicating that the ROM version is wrong or something like that.

Any help to solve my problem? I tried different ROM versions and a firmware upgrade option instead of the download version, but still with the same wrong result. Will a "format all" option have a chance to solve the deny issue? Thanks in advance.

Reading the above and previous posts, I have the impression that someone is manipulating us (our phones).
Is this a game? Or maybe someone wants to test something on our phones?
Why doesn't UmiDigi want to release a normal upgrade via FOTA?

Well because my phone is new, I wanted to update it before I begin installing new applications and putting all sort of data in it. My concern was also to verify whether the ROM could be updated easily. From my experience now, it is in no way easy, nor feasible despite all my efforts to follow carefully the given instructions. The upgrade via FOTA was impossible, and I am wondering then if any patch could come in the future to correct bugs or for security reinforcement, if one is unlucky enough to have got the wrong ROM version coming with his phone. My phone indicated that its ROM version was up to date, when its number 20190724 (not 20190715) or so indicated that it was not! Android 9 feature like the "iphone like" unique button was lacking. And the update via spft has made my phone unusable, which upsets me a lot.

Manipulate? I have updated without problems and without PC! No need for "flash", no need for PC!!! We have updated many F1s without problems!

Well I have to apologize here. I have committed a big mistake because my pone is a F1 play and not a F1 as I thought first, because I wasn't aware of the difference. So I went into the wrong download forum as the F1 play forum is different. And I downloaded the wrong ROM versions.
I have been able to recover my phone by using the right latest ROM version for F1 play, and the phone works again like a charm.
Sorry for all the inconvenience caused by my mistake to the UMIDIGI staff and the users.

U pods Umidigi arrived. 30min play time,disconected and right earphone dead.Only left play. Charging no efect

same issue I have with my bank account app, when I open it, stuck and crash.. after last two updates.. Umidigi please focus on better rom , is impossible to create new bugs with every new update
