This is the SP Flash Tool + OTA release of the

V1.2_20190705 system software

for UMIDIGI A5 Pro

Flash tool operation is recommended to experienced users only. If you are not yet an experienced flash tool user, please carefully read the flash tool tutorial before proceeding, and strictly follow each instruction.

Except if an authorized or responsible expert directly asked you to do that,

never format the flash chip of your device or you instantly lose your warranty!

UMIDIGI A5 Pro receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricked your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again. Moreover, flashing with SPFT is the only option to repair (replace) damaged system software.

Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6765_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other components

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMIDIGI A5 Pro if the standard method doesn't work.

It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop

1. Connect your UMIDIGI A5 Pro to USB.

2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.

3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.

4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

OTA (recovery) update

Manual (local) OTA update method instructions

• Copy the downloaded .zip file to the internal storage of your phone
• Go to Settings --> System --> --> Advanced --> About phone --> Wireless update
• Tap the 3-dot menu button in the top right corner and select Local Updates
• Brows for the ...update.zip file and select it
• Select INSTALL NOW, then OK in the Warning window. Your phone reboots into recovery, the update gets installed, then your phone boots into Android. Your updated system is ready to use.

Optional method (in case if the manual OTA update gets stuck): Install from recovery

You need a microSD card (with at least 4GB capacity) installed in your phone!

• Copy the ...update.zip file to your SD card.
• Press and hold the volume-up and power buttons together until your phone restarts (the boot screen is displayed), then immediately release the power button and keep only the vol-up button pressed until your phone boots into recovery. It needs about 10 seconds or a little bit less if your phone was already powered off. Now you can move with both volume buttons, and select an item with the power button.
• Move to ‘Apply update from SD card’ and select it.
• On the next screen brows for the update file and select it. The updating process will start and needs a few minutes to be finished.
• After a succcessful installation you can read the ''Install from SD card complete.'' message and the receovery menu is available again.
• Select 'Reboot system now'. Alternatively you can perform a factory data reset here by choosing 'Wipe data/factory reset'
  

Kind request from users:
Please report any kind of new issues you experience after installing this update only if you've already flashed this ROM with SP Flash Tool in Firmware Upgrade mode. In rare cases a FOTA update can cause more or less serious malfunctions but that means only the update process went wrong, not a badly developed ROM. An updated stock ROM, especially related to the basic functions will not cause any new issues but will solve some of the existing ones.

I received my phone on monday and so far the phone has been great, you guys did an amazing job with it, i encountered some small bugs and hope you guys can fix them in the next update.

-Sometimes the phone will restart itself for no reason, so far this problem happened to me 2 times only.

-When using the Google Duo app the front camera will sometimes flash a green screen, funny enough when the restart bug happened i used Duo again and it fixed itself somehow.

-The battery drains waay too quickly, and in the system options it wont shop app battery usage (This same error happens with the A1 Pro, it just wont display the app data)

-The brightness is very very low, i have to use it at 70% at least to actually see something and that drains a lot of battery aswell, i dont know if its a bug or the screen itself but my A1 Pro is way brighter when only using it at 30%

I just received the A5 pro but found that the wifi mac address is changing always whenever disable/enable wifi or restart the phone. I need the mac address to be fixed to connect to office network. How to solve this issue? Please advice. thank you,

Updated to this version via FOTA method. I am seeing the following issues
Cannot switch from back to front camera for selfie.
Turning on antishake feature will intermittently produce a totally green picture.

Having the same problem that the battery usage dont show app usage.

There are four issues.
1. The status of "battery usage after full charge" is not displayed
2. Turn on "Auto adjust brightness" and leave the smartphone in a dark place. Then the brightness is fixed at 0.
3. When using "Access Point" at 2.4 GHz only, channels are assigned to 14 channels and SSID can not be found.
4. If you turn on the image stabilization with a normal camera and shoot in dark places, all green images will be saved.

After the Flash Tool firmware, the phone does not load and writes:

Red state
Your device has not been verified and may not work properly.
Please download boot image with correct signature or disable verified boot.
Your device will reboot in 5 seconds.

How to fix the phone? Where can I get backup of a working phone?

Here are the bugs I'm experiencing with my A5 Pro:

Notifications don't light up the screen r make the phone vibrate.
There's no settings menu for emergency broadcasts.
There's no option to add a SIP account under "Calling accounts" in the Phone app.

Overall I'm very happy with the phone but hopefully these things can be fixed in a future software update.

Hello,

I'm having an issue with my A5 pro. MAC address keeps changing making it impossible to connect to my work network. Is there a way of fixing that issue?
At the moment I'm not able to use the phone as there is no GSM network in the place I work and I'm dependant on WIFI.
