UMIDIGI A5 Pro Launched with a Huge Giveaway, Global Sale on May 21.

After its flagships UMIDIGI S3 Pro and UMIDIGI F1 Play and its battery beast UMIDIGI Power, the Chinese smart devices maker UMIDIGI launched its new entry-level phone with ultra-wide angle triple camera, the UMIDIGI A5 Pro today, following the company’s goal to make professional smartphone photography affordable for everyone. The global sale of the UMIDIGI A5 Pro will exclusively start at AliExpress UMIDIGI Official Store on May 21 at 7 AM GMT. UMIDIGI promised that the open sale price will shake the smartphone market and surprise everyone (specific price will be unveiled later).

Following the great success of its UMIDIGI A3 and A3 Pro, UMIDIGI now presents a new budget device with ultra-wide angle triple camera and a triple card slot. Before, the triple camera setup with the ultra-wide angle lens was only found in high priced flagship mobiles. It’s amazing that the company brings the ultra wide-angle photography, such a great feature to the budget segment. Let’s see what are the specs of the new UMIDIGI A5 Pro.

The UMIDIGI A5 Pro features a 6.3-inch waterdrop full screen with FHD+ resolution which is 2280 x 1080. Both, the in-cell LTPS display and the back of the phone are protected by 2.5D curved glass. The waterdrop notch looks slightly different than the notch we know from other UMIDIGI devices. Yet the A5 Pro is nearly bezel-less and reaches a screen-to-body ratio of 92.7%.

The top feature of UMIDIGI's new entry-level phone is the camera. It’s a triple setup containing a 16 MP Sony IMX398, a main sensor with F/1.8, an 8 MP 120° ultra wide-angle camera and a 5 MP depth lens. With this phone, you will get the best shots in this price range.

With 8.2mm the phone is very thin even though it got a 4150 mAh battery which can be charged via 10 Watt quick charge. The newest Android 9.0 Pie Stock system runs on an MTK Helio P23 octa-core SoC with 4GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage, with up to 256GB expansion via a dedicated microSD slot. The UMIDIGI A5 Pro got a triple slot design (Dual SIM + Dedicated microSD Slot), supporting dual 4G VoLTE as well as global LTE bands.

UMIDIGI A5 Pro will start global sale on May 21, and the day is also the company’s Featured Band Sale on AliExpress. So we can expect a super price tag of the A5 Pro then. Now UMIDIGI A5 Pro is already listed at its AliExpress store and you can add it to cart first in case you miss the big discount on May 21. Also, UMIDIGI is offering 18 of its customers the chance to receive a free device to test it and help improve user experience. To find these 18 lucky winners the company launched a huge Giveaway which will end on May 21.

I would like to sincerely congratulate Umidigi for the very successful UmidigiFanFestival where they sold more than 10,000 A5 Pro units, in addition to other models.
It is great to see that Umidigi is heading in the right direction, and I truly hope they can maintain the course and further improve their services.

Personally, I'm satisfied with the amount of software support they provide in fixing bugs, although they should give more attention to Android version and security updates.

I've taken a very detailed look at various China-based phone manufacturers/brands, and it's quite clear that Umidigi is starting to differentiate themselves from the low-quality and copycat ones, even getting near to the top dogs.

It would be great to see Umidigi take advantage of the current situation in the world's phone market and step up their game for a larger share of the market. This can of course come only if their next orientation is towards providing mid-range (and premium) models with AMOLED screens and under-display fingerprint scanners, similar to what Samsung is doing with the A50 and similar models.

In any case, I just wanted to congratulate you and wish you all the best in the future.

Very very solid harwares but bad softwares...please give more attention to the software and support as a whole, it only needs this so the brand solidifies in the market ... it has everything to beat the big brands ... I live in Brazil and I have a F1 Play with a critical bug in calls via Yes but I can not ask anyone for help because I can not get a support ... my device has great camera sensors but a horrible native application that lowers every device .... anyway ... I hope they start thinking like a big company .

Hi Umidigi and Community,

I got A5 Pro 3 days ago. I loved phone so much. Thanks to you for that.

After using it some time I noticed I dont see notification from apps until I turn on the screen. Can you please add this feature so that when we get notification from apps it wakes screen on. Because we dont have notification LED in this phone. I think it is important to have inscreen notification alert, otherwise users of this phone will miss important notifications. Please add this in the next update.

THANK YOU BEFOREHAND.

Hi to all, I just bought my A5 pro from Amazon last week, and I see a common problem: earpiece sounds too low, you can barely hear the other person in call, or whatsapp voice messages. There is any way to fix this or is a hardware problem. Hope you can help me, thanks.
