As for quickstep issue, all you guys have to do is to remove the package and it'll work flawlessly, even with custom launchers(I'm using Nova).
This is only temporarily until you factory reset OR OTA update the device.

1) Download minimal adb fastboot package from here: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754459552
2) Go to Settings > System > About Phone and tap on "build number" about 8 times. You should see a message saying: "You are a developer now"
3) Back to the previous menu and you should see now a new item called "Developer options", go there, find and enable "USB debugging".
4) Now connect the phone to the PC via USB and select "Transfer files" on the phone.
5) Open a command line and go to the directory you extracted the adb tools to.
6) Run the command "adb devices", your device should shown. If not, you need to check the drivers.
7) Run "adb shell"
8) Run "pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.launcher3". It should show "success".
9) Reboot the device and you will be able to multitask until either factory reset OR update.

My main bugs:

Photos - the camera isn't bad in great lighting. BUT I'm getting loads of low resolution copies appearing in G-photos. It's like the low res thumbnails are being created as new photos over night.

Anyone have any ideas? It's driving me crazy constantly going through and deleting them only to find them back the next day!

- Slippy gestures - useless as they constantly kick you back to the home screen because the active area sits over the space bar. Just reduce this to 1 pixel to fix. Umidigi can check One Plus gestures in the Playstore to see how to do this properly. Even better - implement the stock pill gesture

- No Nova launcher support

- Constantly backward facing GPS indicator

- Power and earphones plugged in at the same time creates lots of interference

- top speaker audio isn't clear or loud enough for me as others have said

This could have been a great phone, but I think there are too many annoying niggles for me not to return it to Amazon.

It's March 15. I hope we get a patch soon! I'm hesitant to hack it apart yet. It's going to be a time waster for me. As this isn't something I want to spend my free time doing.

Nb for others - it goes back to the old, pre-pie way of task switching (big long vertical list), but tbh, i'm happy with just being able to use Nova without a crash right now

when trying to root the phone can the phone lock be checked and there is no possibility to unlock it? or with flash tool is there always a possibility?
