I had the same issue, as in the win 10 drivers dont "recognize" the phone, but it worked for me by shutting down the phone, doing the required steps in the SP Flash Tool (I used Firmware Upgrade Mode)(see initial instructions for SP Flash tool), connecting to usb, then starting it with power and volume up at the same time, kept them both pressed until the update process kicked in, and it worked without problems for me. Try it if you want to, cant guarantee it will work for you aswell, worked for me first try.

unfortunately, I try every step that you say, but nothing.
I start Flash tool, connect the phone, press both buttons Volume up + Power, and every time appears usb device not recognized

I really don't know what to do. I go crazy.

I also try on 2 computer, but same thing.

Any idea, what I need to do.

then only thing I can think is wrong could be the usb cable, had one that was not working for this, so this is my last idea, if you have 4 phones, change the cable with one that works for sure, try one of the other phones, as said, did this on my Z2 pro, no issues, worked first time.
Alternatively, there might be some UMIDIGI official that maybe can help, dont know the procedure of contacting them, never needed

and one more thing, if you installed the "recommended" drivers, and connect the phone while its booted up and working, windows will recognize it correctly, the issue with these drivers is only in shutdown mode, so that might be a good way to check if the usb connection is working

Thank you for every information and help, I really respect that.
I really try everything, what you say, but nothing happened.
I try as you say with Firmware Upgrade Mode, nothing, I try also with Download mode, nothing.

When I start flash tool and make every step.

Open Flash tool;
Choose Scatter lording file;
Select mode (Firmware upgrade, download only);
Press the download button;
And after this steps I connect the phone (turn off) with usb.

After that appears the window with massage  usb device not recognized.

I try to press volume up + power, then appears the massage usb device not recognized, a several of times, with sound That the usb is connected, after few second sound that the usb is disconnected.

Also I try so far 10 different USB cables, but nothing.
Also I install recommend drivers, but nothing.

I really don't know what to do.
As I say, I have 4 x UMIDIGI Z2 Pro, and I can't nobody recommend and give this phone, because I scared that people call me every day about some problems with system.

I really don't know what do.

GSI Android 9 works, not totally but works, recently im on single sim usage so i switched to pie and is very smooth. (better wireless charging, ram usage, app running at boot....)

For the install you must unclock oem with fastboot, the faster way to do that is using sp flast tool to flash a twrp recovery, then from it you can reboot to bootloader and connect usb cable easy, or just try power+volumeDown.

(on windows you must have google usb drivers and use manual install>specific drivers>specific from A: floppy (just for select a folder)>.inf>ALL DRIVERS>bootloader )

use: fastboot unclock oem

For boot to recovery: power+volumeUP.

Unlucky in twrp recovery i always get alla partition not wipable so i used: fastboot erase system -w (-w = totally erase, also partition...is the only way it truly worked for me for not get bootlooped) but that destroy partitions so you lose the 120gb storage, so i just flashed back from sp flash tool the entire original rom to make it back and booted directly to BOOTLOADER or twrp->bootloader, then with "fastboot flash system system.img" i made all working and clean.

This is my journey, there is probably a better way to do it but if you get a problem in the way you can fix it with my hints.

Thank you people, but I would like to BURN this trash of phone. I try, try, try everything but every time when I connect UMIDIGI Z2 Pro appear massage usb device not recognized and in Device Manager appears Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)

I really don't know what to do.

I buy 4 UMIDIGI Z2 Pro and I put a lot of money, but now I'm so angry that I would BURN IT.

Hello Sir, my Z2 pro was bricked a while ago but after facing a lot of problem, I was able to rectify the problem and device starts but now, the moment I disconnect the device from charging, the device switches off. Can you please able to tell me what is the problem? Is the battery is faulty or something else? Please reply
