I thought that all Google certified phones were E-fused from Nougat onwards

No, the E-fuse is a hardware level protection, it's not related to the operating system.

Interresting Device! Will the stock Android 8.1 be e-fused?  Need to replace my Z1 Pro soon

No, it won't be. Only UMI OS devices are E-fuse protected. Starting from the S2 Lite, all new UMIDIGI smartphones are relased with stock Android.

If the efuse is hardware level protection, why are only umi o/s devices actively using it?
and won't the refuse be tripped if rooting is attempted?

Okay, I also have some other questions :

1) Android 8.1
This version is new and really great but considering that the Z2 has a notch, why not turn to android P which improves their integration? I guess that when the phone was created this version did not exist yet but thanks to Treble, will we have an update to android 9?

2) Glass
Will the glass be stronger? Will there be a cheap way to change it if it is broken?

Thomas !

I do have my doubts for IMIDIGI because the way they let the formal flagship S2 Pro users down, by s ...

UMIDIGI does not earn money with the support.
They prefer to sell new devices.
I am very annoyed that the Z Pro is no longer supported.

Which camera sensors are used in the Z2 and Z2 Pro?
Is there any hope that current sensors will be used this time
or does UMIDIGI again use "discontinued models"?
It would be time to finally bring a device with a good camera on the market.
