Not only UMIDIGI. I know about some Lenovo models used the Efuse protection in the past. This technology is developed by MediaTek but only a few manufacturers use it.
Efuse is a bad name for this technology since it's not really a fuse, that can be triggered, it's just a write protection of some specific partitions.
This could actually tempt me to buy back into umidigi,...but.... How good a job
has been done with the software? we all know that bugs exist, but as a flagship device
it will have to operate perfectly straight out of the box.
I saw on the presentation video that the Z2 and Z2 pro have a battery of 3000maH (or a little more but not very much), is-it true ? If yes, why this step back for a "high-end" phone after the s2 with its exceptional battery ? I already have the s2 lite and seeing the design and features of z2 I really want to buy it, but at the same time it would cost a little less than $300 and I do not know if it would be worth the blow to pay in order to have a less good battery. The battery of s2 is so great!
UMIDIGI should send me one so i could retire my old Z that is weird to a level normal phone users would have replaced it, but i am not normal user and i can not afford to replace it anytime soon.
So its wonky old Z phone or nothing for me.

Z2: 4050mAh
Z2 Pro: 3650mAh
Since the Z2 series is shorter and thinner than the S2 series, they can't contain the same size of battery. Also the wireless charging board in the Z2 Pro occupies some extra space, that's why its battery is even smaller. On the other hand, thanks to the Helio P60's 12nm technology (it's 16nm at the P25 used in S2 Pro), you can expect a significantly lower power consumption.
Thank you very much for the reply. 4000mAh is really cool for a battery, with the optimizations of Android 8 and your improvements, should I except a duration of charge simular to S2 on Z2 ? This phone definitively looks great and that's probably gonna be my next phone.
