Can an admin from the forum confirm this ?

A brand new phone with no plans for upgrades ? You must be kidding ...

Well that you for confirming that I should return this phone....
The custom os bring only problems it's built to keep 2 days of battery so it's killing all process when it can. I'm excluding 2 apps from everywhere so it's keept open all the time, and if I close the app, the process that should that open (voip SIP application, so I should continu to receive calls) is killed....

It will receive further updates but not an Android version upgrade. At least at the moment we can't promise Android version upgrade.

FOR ME THIS IS THE BIGEST JOKE EVER!  A Brand new Phone with 6GB Memory and 128GB Flash cant get an update to Android Oreo!

Its always the same Game,  you Buy a Actual Phone Flagship for the Moment and the After Sales Support dosend exist! Instead of bringing a Upgrad zu a newer Android Version , the want to sale you a new Phone! Sorry whats that?!

For now getting oreo aint Even an option beacause of mediatek. They have not Released the SDK for this prosessor. So there is no point in discussing this untill then. Just let them focus on getting UMI os better, since we cant get stock android on this device.

I prefer this answer than the old one...
There is a difference between "It won't be upgraded to android 8" and "At the moment we can't tell"

UMI OS have been the worse experience with latency, bugs, deficiencies, even advertising and now this? It is my biggest regret to stay with Umidigi; since the model Plus with stock Android OS.

Dosend mater if is a Problem from Mediatek or not, if you want to Produce a New Flagship Phone and to have Sucsess on the Market: You have to Check before with the Chip Companys like Mediatek that soon oder has to be Garantied they will give you the SDK!

For me Personaly is this the last Phone with Mediatek inside,  my next wil have just SNAPDRAGON.

Umidigi should do something to Presure MEDIATEK.
