This is the QGDP + SP Flash Tool + OTA release of the

V1.0_20180117 (UMI OS V2.0.023) system software

for UMIDIGI S2 Pro

Flash tool operation (either SP or QGDP) is recommended to experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!

UMIDIGI S2 Pro receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (you've bricked your phone or the system software is damaged), or if you want to get a clean installation of the official system software to make your phone able to install FOTA updates again.

WARNING!

Flashing this ROM on any other model may permanently brick your device, flashing the original ROM that fits your device might not be possible anymore!

Please make sure, double check that, you are working with a UMIDIGI S2 Pro smartphone before starting the flashing process with this ROM!

QGDP flasher: QGDP_ASE_3.2.0_S2PRO.rar New version, please downlooad it! Choose 'TEST' in the drop-down list, then you can log in.

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMIDIGI S2 Pro if the standard method doesn't work.

It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop

1. Connect your UMIDIGI S2 Pro to USB.

2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.

3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.

4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

OTA (recovery) update

Manual (local) OTA update method instructions

• Copy the downloaded .zip file to the internal memory of your phone
• Go to Settings --> About phone --> System update
• Tap the 3-dot menu button in the top right corner and select Local Updates
• Brows for the ...update.zip file and select it
• Select Restart now. Your phone reboots into recovery, the update gets installed, then your phone boots into Android. Your updated system is ready to use.
  

Update file for manual OTA update: >>>>> UMIDIGI_S2_PRO_V1.0_20180117_update.zip <<<<< It can update version 171207 and 171227 only

Optional method (in case if the manual OTA update gets stuck): Install from recovery

You need a microSD card (with at least 4GB capacity) installed in your phone!

• Copy the ...update.zip file to your SD card
• Press and hold the volume-up and power buttons together until your phone restarts (the boot screen is displayed), then immeduately release the power button and keep only the vol-up button pressed until your phone boots into recovery. It needs about 10 seconds or a little bit less if your phone was already powered off.
• Here you can see a lying android figure with an exclamation mark in red triangle on its tummy.
• Press and hold the power and vol-up buttons (in this order) together, then release them to call the recovery menu. Now you can move with the volume buttons and select an item with the power button.
• Move to ‘Apply update from SD card’ and select it.
• On the next screen brows for the update file and select it. The updating process will start and needs a few minutes to be finished.
• After a succcessful installation you can read the ''Install from sdcard complete'' message and the receovery menu is available again.
• Select 'Reboot system now'. Alternatively you can perform a factory data reset here by choosing 'Wipe data/factory reset'
  

Kind request from users:
Please report any kind of new issues you experience after installing this update only if you've already flashed this ROM with SP Flash Tool in Firmware Upgrade mode. In rare cases a FOTA update can cause more or less serious malfunctions but that means only the update process went wrong, not a badly developed ROM. An updated stock ROM, especially related to the basic functions will not cause any new issues but will solve some of the existing ones.

If you already have 20171227 installed via OTA, you already have the latest version, so you can't update it again with the same update file. 20171227 is identical to 20180117, but the developers forgot to set the correct build number. Please check the Kernel version. If you have the latest update installed, that must be Wed Jan 17 13:58

Hi,
First try to flash this latest ROM with SP Flash Tool in 'Firmware Upgrade' mode to get a clean installation of the system software.
Please post in French language in the French section or use English language here.

bonjour a tous j ai acquis un umidigi s 2 pro il y 15 jours et pour moi impossible de me connecter sur le wifi ou sur mes connections données ! la connexion est très instable et puis disparaît j ai même fait hier soir la mise a jour ota  V1.0_ 20180117 mais cela ne change rien a la connexion wifi ou de donnée ! j habite en belgique ! c est désolant d avoir un téléphone comme ca et de ne pas pouvoir aller sur internet! a quand une mise a jour pour cela pour moi pouvoir utiliser mes applications installées sur mon téléphone!!!!! merci d avance en attendant votre réponse

It's already been released via OTA, or I couldn't share the OTA update file. The OTA server sends out the update notifications in batches (not all but only a restricted number of devices get the notification at the same time), so you might receive it later. If you don't want to wait, you can download the update file and install it manually.

I have one more question.
With local OTA Update will I loose my data? Or it is like regular update?

Tried to update via local OTA Update and sd update both failed with an error.(Redownloaded the file many times still failed)

Don't want to risk loosing my imei by flashing with the flash tool so looks like iv got to wait for the OTA update to get to me.

for all those worried about imei and user data as long as you have user data not ticked its all good and retains the imei
