Don't forget to enable USB debugging and run the SU binary update via the TWRP method if needed.

Wow thanks for your quick response : ) USB debugging is enabled. I just ran the SU binary after the system is rebooted. Do you suggest there's a way to run it within TWRP?

The SuperSU app should offer two solutions for updating the binaries: normal and TWRP method. If you choose the latter one, it just downloads the update data but installs them from TWRP. That can be useful if your root access doesn't work perfectly.

I tried also that option but SuperSU is not able to reboot to recovery. If i use your program with option to reboot to recovery is there a way to access the update downloaded previously by SuperSU and install it manually?

No, you can't do that. Install the adbd Insecure app on your phone, check 'Enable insecure adbd' and try again the SU update with normal method.

Still no luck : ( I've let adbd insecure to patch the system (took ages) and enabled at boot brefore rebooting and running supersu again (latest version 2.67).

Just wondering: would i get a chance to get a rooted system after flashing CM12.1? Or maybe my system is corrupt somehow and i need to re-flash the stock rom and re-start from scratch. Not sure what would be the best option from here

Happy ending: i tried something different described here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdbUnIb9u-c

The procedure begins with the installation of Kingroot - which i tried to avoid but i got root in a snap and could remove it almost immediately thanks to Supersu-me (also provided in the link of that video).

After that i just installed SuperSu from the playstore and everything is good now

In any case thank you for helping bencebacsi. Your procedure didn't work for me but others found it's worth a shot. Maybe my phone is different somehow

Hi, I am kind of a noob in here, i want to update my phone's firmware but, i also wanted to make a backup of it in case something goes wrong. While using your app, I was able to install the drivers and get the device connected but now i'm not sure wich option i should choose to create a backup file. Also can i use your app to flash that backup to the phone if something goes wrong in the other process??
BTW sorry if i posted this twice, wasen't sure if the first attempt was posted...
Thanks
Ric.
