Flash tool operation is recommended for experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!

WARNING!

If you have this version installed on your phone, your warranty might be voided according to your seller's policy! In case of a warranty return, we recommend you to flash an official stock ROM.

If you have this version installed on your phone, OTA updates cannot be installed. Basic Edition version OTA updates will not be provided. You can any time return to an official stuck ROM (flashing only the system partition of the same version is enough) to be able to receive factory OTA updates again.

If you flash the Basic Edition version for the first time, it is highly recommended to flash it in Firmware Upgrade mode (your user data will be erased) in order to remove the updates and saved data of the removed apps as well. Later updates can be flashed without the userdata partition.

Changelog:

• Replacable default launcher (you must uninstall your custom launcher to be able to set the system launcher as default again)
• Initiator launcher replaced by Google Now launcher as the system default
• Not system-sensitive custom apps have been removed

Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6757_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other components

VCOM driver: Windows 10 can automatically install it. Please make sure that your Windows is logged in with administrator rights and your computer has a working internet connection when first time connecting your phone.

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMIDIGI S if the standard method doesn't work.

It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop

1. Connect your UMIDIGI S to USB.

2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.

3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.

4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

I had to translate the system into Polish for my father-in-law. The translation is amateurish. The system is not 100% translated, but mostly.
By the way I made mini customizations of the application. I changed the launcher on EVI. A few more stubborn, or easy to replace, Google applications have flew out. Instead, the following applications appear.
CleanMasterLite, Compass, EARecorder (sound recorder), Facebook, FacebookMessenger, GoogleCalc, GoogleCalendar, GoogleChrome, GoogleClock, GoogleContacts, GoogleMessages (SMS / MMS), GooglePDF, GoogleTranslate, Gallery, ImageWidget, Spotify, SwiftKey Keyboard, TelegramX (Challegram), VLC , WhatsApp, Yanosik

I also made some minor changes to build.prop (DPI etc.), and added Telegram, Gmail, Messenger, WhatsApp apps to the white list, etc.

I do not give any guarantees for smooth operation, etc. Only the system.img is different in relation to the original. Before uploading via SPFlashTool, please backup all data and upload to the phone at least system, cache and date. It works brilliant in my and my fionce father phones.

Hi Erich,

I was thinking about the two words but maybe a third one, 'while' would be the best, so maybe I'll reformulate the description. Basically the current wording contains hidden words and phrases to make the text simpler. The meaning is: If you have this ROM installed on your phone, your warranty is voided until you flash an official stock ROM on it. So yes, flashing a stock ROM will restore the warranty. The same meaning in the OTA description.

\n\nHello! I've been using my Umidigi S and this Rom for a few days and noticed a few issues :

• After installing the first 20 apps, new ones stopped downloading and old ones can't update either. The play store just displays the 'downloading' message but no progress is being made. This can be 'fixed' by rebooting the device at which point 1-3 more applications will download / update but then the issue returns. EDIT: as of 9th of January this no longer works, the first 500-900 kilobytes are downloaded but then it stops working. The only workaround left is to look for the apk online and download it there.
• For the first 2 days the finger print worked without issues, but one morning it stopped responding. Lockscreen doesn't react to registered or foreign fingers. The device does not vibrate like it used to. In addition I'm unable to remove registered fingers from the settings.
• I can't connect my smart watch, the device is paired initially but loses connection after few seconds and will not connect back unless I reset the setup process. Other Bluetooth devices work without any problem. The watch is an LG G Watch W100 running latest version of android wear, worked on 3 other phones.
  

Has anyone else experienced this? Are you able to suggest any fixes?

One more problem. Does anyone else have problems with facebook messenger applications, telegram, whatsapp or even gmail? Very often, they do not display notifications. You have to enter the application and only then refresh the changes. I downloaded the push tester from the play store, and theoretically push notifications work. When I keep my home for longer and clear the list of active applications, all of them must be switched on again. In the settings the batteries are added to exceptions. Likewise, in the application settings, there are access granted and the option of downloading the h in the background, and changing the system settings.

\n\nI flashed to formatted storage. There is one mistake - does not work ringtone changing by setting. I did must use an app.

I use the Microsoft launcher and I am satisfied.


Edit: Ringtone is necessary save to Music folder. MS Launcher is battery guzzler, avoid it!

Hey, I will receive my new UMIDIGI S soon. I would like to directly flash this ROM. Is there a possibility I can make a backup first? Also, is it possible to root this device? Thanks in advance.

Car depuis que je l'ai mise, j'ai toutes mes appli qui me notifient plus, car elles se font nettoyé..
Je n'a plus la possibilité de les mettre en liste blanche

Hi,
You don't need to backup the original ROM since you can downkload it here anytime. I guess if it will be a brand new phone, you don't need to backup your user data.
Since the raw data partitions (boot, recovery etc.) cannot be replaced/overwritten by patched partitions thanks to the Efuse partition protection, rooting the system is not possible.
