This is an unofficial SP Flash Tool release of the

V1.01_20170913 Basic Edition (UMI OS 2.0)

system software for

UMIDIGI Z1 Pro

Flash tool operation is recommended to experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!

WARNING!

If you have this version installed on your phone, your warranty might be voided according to your seller's policy! In case of a warranty return, we recommend you to flash an official stock ROM.

If you have this version installed on your phone, OTA updates cannot be installed. Basic Edition version OTA updates will not be provided. You can any time return to an official stock ROM (flashing only the system partition of the same version is enough) to be able to receive factory OTA updates again.

If you flash the Basic Edition version for the first time, it is highly recommended to flash it in Firmware Upgrade mode (your user data will be erased) in order to remove the updates and saved data of the removed apps as well. Later updates can be flashed without the userdata partition.

Changelog:

• Replacable default launcher (once you set it as default, you must uninstall your custom launcher to be able to use the system launcher again)
• Initiator launcher replaced by Google Pixel launcher as the system launcher
• Not system-sensitive custom apps have been removed
           List of removed apps: 360 Security, FreeShare, QuickTouch, TouchPal 2017, App Store, Intelligent Aggregating Page, Power Master, 9Apps, News Republic, UC Browser, Avatar Master, Anti-theft, App Cleanup, Initiator (system launcher), Property System, 360 Clone

Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6757_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other components

VCOM driver: Windows 10 can automatically install it. Please make sure that your Windows is logged in with administrator rights and your computer has a working internet connection when first time connecting your phone.

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMIDIGI Z1 Pro if the standard method doesn't work.

It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop

1. Connect your UMIDIGI Z1 Pro to USB.

2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.

3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.

4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

Hello Umi User community,
I don't want to cross-post but maybe my findings also are of interest for you:
I found two solutions to problems mentioned here:
1) Bluetooth kept disconnecting after 5 minutes
Solution: Open developer settings (I guess the menu entry is called inactive Apps in English, dunno), and disable Power save on every App and system process mentioning Bluetooth and your favorite music App
2) Play store refuses to download Updates, new Apps and (WhatsApp) Google drive backups not transferring
Workaround: When download stalls, go to Settings->Apps and deactivate the App simply called 'Google'. The Download manager starts in an instant. One can directly reactivate the App. Until next occasion
On the first tries I also deleted all Google (zombie?) processes from Developer->Memory->cached Apps
@Umi devs: For me, it is not understandable why you cannot just sign the existing stock Android System and give it to us. Umi OS renders your pretty phone to pure crap. Not one App your developers modified works as expected. Music shows no more than ~200(random) songs from storage. Photos shows no more than ~100  entries. Not even the alarm clock rings in time (_best_ hit was 3 minutes too late). That is ridiculous.
I did buy my Phone as Android 7 device, now I have a crippled OS you force me to use. All that for a price I could have bought a decent phone from a more reputated manufacturer. This will let me think twice about your promises next time...

Go to 'Settings --> Permission management --> App startup management' and make Viber allowed.
The hall switch is present and it works but you need a compatible flip case with a proper magnet installed in its top cover. Settings in 'Settings --> Display --> S View Cover Setting'.

Hello.
I ask for help. I changed ROM using the flash tool program. I put the basic because I was interested in removing all the applications useless and why I wanted to put Nova Launcher. Unfortunately I got confused and I started "Auto Format Flash". Then I realized that I had to click on Download / Firmware Upgrade and I was able to put the Basic Umi OS ROM ... Now it seems that the smartphone works but unfortunately no longer has its two IMEI. In fact in IMEI 1 there are all 11111111111111 and in IMEI 2 there are all 22222222222222. Can anyone even explain how to restore IMEI? Maybe someone could tell me how to put an original ROM (Android Stock) instead of the UMi OS ROM? Thank you

Hi,
You can restore your IMEI numbers with SN Writer Tool. Unfortunately that's not possible to install a stock android version on a phone shipped with UMI OS. The Efuse partition protection won't let you flash non-UMI OS boot partitions.

UMI OS phones are protected by Efuse partition protection system, that makes it impossible to flash modified (non-factory) boot images. Since 5.1 and newer Android systems can be rooted with systemless methods only (only patching the system is not enough but the boot image has to be patched as well), as a result, UMI OS phones cannot be rooted.

This ROM is cool, after a factory reset from fastboot and with the latest apps the PlayStore is working fine (1 from 20 downloads hangs only)

I have two wishes only:
find the position of hall-switch, (is it exist at all??)
and make the viber starting automatically after a phone restart.
