Serious problem with the gps - solutions?

I created this thread to try to collect here any gps solutions, it does not work and I noticed that many complain about the same problem

Because it is a very serious problem (we all use the navigator every day) I preferred to create a new thread rather than write to the ones already created, dispelling any possible solutions

I can say that I have partially solved with this tutorial

Now the gps if I go slowly in the car hangs up to 10 satellites, if i go fast it goes down to 4-5 and with google maps often loses the signal then hang it a few seconds or one minute later




Feel free to suggest other methods as well, but I advise you to indicate other solutions only if you have tried them first


....how such a serious problem still hasn't been solved by Umidigi developers?

Under engineering menu, location based service, the A-GPS Profiling Info indicate TLS connection failure -1

Is this the root cause causing the bad GPS performance in Cystal??

\n\nThe compass is also compounding the GPS issue during navigation,  you can see the cursor in navigation apps keeps jumping around as the compass direction is very erratic. The navigation app keep recalculating the route as it loses either the GPS lock or compass direction. I still cannot sense the vibrate confirmation of the compass being calibrated and there is no actual feature to calibrate them.

I have a umidigi crystal 4GB/64GB. About GPS problem. I notice that with Google maps the phone gives wrong position and sticks. If i close the screen the Google maps working Perfect and i hear the girl voice of the program to discribe the route correct. I think that for some reason the screen is causing a problem in GPS. I hope this be helpful. I use the phone in Greece.

you had the gps already working when you bought the phone, or did you do the procedure indicated by me in the first post of the thread?

Hi Guys,
I have also problem with GPS. I have two UMIDIGI Crystal 4GB/64GB phones, but GPS can't catch any satelite on both of them. I tried also tutorial descibed in post above, but it didn't help at all... Please help me :-(

The solution is to buy another phone, one without the Crystal's design flaws.

Please install GPS test from play store. Then take phone outside, activate location and switch on GPS test app. Wait up to 15 minutes, take screenshot and provide here.
Also please take screenshot of build number.

Everyone who has a UMIDIGI Crystal knows that the GPS is catastrophic. This knows UMIDIGI too.

I can suggest everyone who wants to take the mobile phone for navigation to take the app "Here we go". The app is free and you can use it offline, because you can download the maps of nearly the whole world on your phone. So you need no mobile datas. Google maps is a shit on the other hand. The app "Here we go" owns the companies Mercedes, BMW and Audi. It works very professional. I know it from my Nokia time and use it since several years! It is very comfortable. Also you get three or four times updates of the maps per year!
