This is the SP Flash Tool release of the

V1.8_20171017 (UMI OS 2.0) system software

for UMIDIGI C NOTE 2

Flash tool operation is recommended for experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!

UMIDIGI C NOTE 2 receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricked your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again.

DB files NOT included

Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6750_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other components

VCOM driver: Windows 10 can automatically install it. Please make sure that your Windows is logged in with administrator rights and your computer has a working internet connection when first time connecting your phone.

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMIDIGI C NOTE 2 if the standard method doesn't work.

It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop

1. Connect your UMIDIGI C NOTE 2 to USB.

2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.

3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.

4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

The only way to extract it, is by flashing the 1.7 and directly use TWRP to copy system/priv-app/360camera folder to sd card.
You can reflash 1.8 after that.

Confirmed to work smooth after one week of test.

Here the steps if you guys want to tweak it, all you need is patient.

Preparation:
- This ROM
- TWRP for C Note 2, google it.
- Launcher APK, up to your taste but I prefer Rootless Pixel Launcher 3.1.

Now here the steps;

1. First you need to flash the fresh 1.8 ROM via QGDP or SFPT
2. Flash TWRP directly after you finish step 1, no need to start the phone yet
3. Enter TWRP by pressing vol up and power button, tick the only option in Russian before you start.
4. Change the language of TWRP to English by selecting the 3rd options on the right side and pick the globe icon.
5. Now go back to the main menu, pick MOUNT, tick the System.
6. Connect the phone to PC, copy the launcher apk to your phone storage and rename it to QK_LauncherAbroad.apk
7. Go back to TWRP main menu, pick ADVANCED, in the menu pick FILE MANAGER
8. Go to your /external_sd, click the launcher file, move/copy it to /system/priv-app/QK_LauncherAbroad, overwrite it.
9. Tweak
- Now from file manager go to /system/app and delete these folders:

-Go to /system/priv-app and delete these folders:
BY_3RD_AvatarMasterAbroad
QK_Antitheft
QK_AppSecurity
QK_Cleaner
QK_CloudSyncAbroad
QK_SafetySpace
QK_TransferAbroad

-Go to /system/presetapp and delete all the apk inside, you can put any apk like chrome, whatsapp, etc inside this folder so it will be preinstalled every time you do a factory reset.
-To remove that ugly browser just go to /system/vendor/app and delete MtkBrowser

10. Restart your system and enjoy a nearly stock OS feel almost without any UMIDIGI craps.
(Optional re-flash stock recovery if you want Factory data reset work)

They could easily make this phone better by replacing UMI OS crap with stock Android (or removing all the craps above) but they choose not to, from the OTA bricked phone debacle to almost zero support, I'll make sure this is my last phone from UMIDIGI and I won't buy any from them anymore.

Also, have Umidigi released the software sources for Umi OS? Devs are saying they won't be able to build custom roms without the sources.

Hello, how have you copied the camera from version 1.7 ...

Hi, I had factory recovery and used spflash tool to flash v1.7. I then installed twrp using spflash and rooted my phone using twrp recovery and the root zip found on NeedRom.com. Once rooted I booted up, installed estrongs file explorer and enabled root explorer. I searched the root directory for the camera360 app folder and copied it to my sdcard.
I then reflashed stock recovery using flashify, used spflash to flash v1.8, reflashed twrp, re-rooted using the same root zip file, booted up, installed estrongs, enabled root explorer copied and pasted the camera360 folder in to the correct system folder, rebooted and that was that. It sounds difficult when you read this but it really wasn't. And I'm glad I did it because the camera on my phone is much better now.

For those who don't get notifications until you open the device or app ie Facebook messenger WhatsApp, go to settings/battery/Active apps after screen lock. Check all apps you need notifications from.

A couple of years back I had the Umi eMax and I had zero issues with it. This device has been a huge let down. I will definitely not be buying a Umidigi device again.

Please, stop put de adware in ROM's for umidigi c note 2. After last update, after start display, the system displays ads in unlock screem. Please allow me to disable system apps such as 360 security or touchpall.

Use SPFlash tool to flash TWRP recovery. Install superSU file via recovery (search NeedRoom site for c note 2 and you'll find the TWRP and SuperSU) then instll Titanium Backup from Play Store. Plus your desired launcher. Then freeze Initiator launcher and your desired launcher will become default. thats how i did it.

Swipe UP to unlock is much better. Just like stock android. Much preferred.
