This is the SP Flash Tool release of the

V1.0_20171114 (Android 6.0.1) system software

for UMIDIGI S2

Flash tool operation is recommended for experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!

UMIDIGI S2 receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricked your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again.

Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6757_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other components

VCOM driver: Windows 10 already automatically can install it or you can use this: MTK_Driver_Auto_Installer_SP_Drivers_20160804.exe

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMIDIGI S2 if the standard method doesn't work.

It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop

1. Connect your UMIDIGI S2 to USB.

2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.

3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.

4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

Kind request from users:
Please report any kind of new issues you experience after installing this update only if you've already flashed this ROM with SP Flash Tool in Firmware Upgrade mode. In rare cases a FOTA update can cause more or less serious malfunctions but that means only the update process went wrong, not a badly developed ROM. An updated stock ROM, especially related to the basic functions will not cause any new issues but will solve some of the existing ones.

I have an o2 Blue All-in contract with LTE and the UMIDIGI S2 (v1).
Internet is working since I have changed  the APN settings:

MVNO Type: IMSI
MVNO Value: x

Before that I had to
Settings -> Data usage -> O2 - DE [or your provider] -> Cellular data  ENABLE
Settings -> More -> Cellular networks -> Data roaming ENABLE

Another issue/bug is that under "Preferred networks" I cannot edit/save/create entries - they are read only.
For whatever reason my provider network is set to 2G/3G and I would like to enable 4G as well, but the change cannot be saved.
E-Plus(2G/3G) -> Network ID: 26203, Network Type: 2G/3G
Nonetheless 4G is working.

I have not yet flashed the latest ROM manually.

Super but I would recommend the umi developers prefer to take care of a Nougat 7 and not to operate this patchwork as they do here they have with the type of mobile phone buyers really ripped off so far and now that it was sold as new and like sauerbier previously advertised they operate only damage limitation in my eyes. or do you really think the user will read this here then the new flackship umi s2 pro buy for 300 ¬ after they have ripped off here. I have for my part with umi and completed the phone umi s2 I just see that I'm still going as well as possible going on and then no UMI comes to me more in the house. UMI up to the super I'm happy to go along because I saw it is a frima that does what in the firmware but now that they bring out the latest phones with firmware on the state of 2015 is for me here conclusion. Really not understand what they do here -but in germany says an old It goes without saying that if the donkey goes too well he will go ice. In this sense, have fun

We want but it's not possible. That wouldn't have been a bigger job to release this model with Nougat out of the box if that had been possible. The needed resources are not provided by mediatek and they are not willing to create them.
