This is the SP Flash Tool release of the

V1.0_20171027 (Android 6.0.1) system software

for UMIDIGI S2

Flash tool operation is recommended for experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!

UMIDIGI S2 receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricked your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again.

Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6757_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other components

VCOM driver: Windows 10 already automatically can install it or you can use this: MTK_Driver_Auto_Installer_SP_Drivers_20160804.exe

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMIDIGI S2 if the standard method doesn't work.

It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop

1. Connect your UMIDIGI S2 to USB.

2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.

3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.

4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

Kind request from users:
Please report any kind of new issues you experience after installing this update only if you've already flashed this ROM with SP Flash Tool in Firmware Upgrade mode. In rare cases a FOTA update can cause more or less serious malfunctions but that means only the update process went wrong, not a badly developed ROM. An updated stock ROM, especially related to the basic functions will not cause any new issues but will solve some of the existing ones.

S2 Root 教程：

2. 电脑安装驱动 MTK_Driver_Auto_Installer_SP_Drivers_20160804  http://www.mediafire.com/file/cr ... rivers_20160804.exe
3. 下载 UMIDIGI_S2_CWM_notouch_recovery.img 并解压  http://www.mediafire.com/file/2c ... otouch_recovery.img
4. 下载 SuperSu Vers 2.82 并把它放入手机内置存储 https://redirect.viglink.com/?fo ... Fs...1705271822.zip
5. 打开Flashtool 选择recovery解压后的 scatter-loading 选择 download （手机连接电脑关机状态）
6. 手机断开电脑连接，同时按住音量上键和电源键，当出现手机log的时候松开电源键保持按住音量上键3秒。
7. 选择安装 "instal zip...", 接着选择从手机内部存贮选择安装包， 找到之前放的SuperSu Vers 2.82安装包，确认安装。之后选择重启手机。

My phone tried to install this OTA update.
Well after reboot it ended in an error and now phone is stuck in the boot.
It shows boot image and this is all. Nothing more.

I'll re-install it with this SPFT, I hope it will resurrect.

US user here: I installed the new update this morning, great to see progress/bug fixes. My straight talk at&t sim is working flawlessly after it arrived today. To my disbelief, I currently have great signal and 4g!

Umidigi S2 with P20 SoC (first batches) will never get upgrade to next firmware.
Next batch with higher SoC will be coming with pre installed OS based on Android 7.

I see a slideshow 14 frames fer second and bitrate 10 Mbit per second instead of video in low light. And a lot of visual artifacts.
