I updated the rom after using NOA N rom as follows.
Flash tool in download mode first over NOA.
then after booting phone to check IMEI still work, Flashed again with Flash tool in firmware upgrade mode.
Have been using this update for over a week now and it's better than NOA10 N rom for me.
I'm on 3uk and with NOA rom I could not use 4G/LTE only mode from engineers menu. Only 4G data would work, could not call anyone.
But with this rom I can use 4G only mode and call too, It's not perfect as calls do suddenly disconnect sometimes, but I can live with that.
This rom has same battery drain as NOA did, it's better than before.
The NOA N rom camera is not as good as the M rom also.
I feel for me that the camera is better, Before on all the other N roms I tried, the greens sometimes came out blue, and when you held the camera pointed at something in bright sunlight, like shooting grass you could see the pixels changing colour in patches all the time as it was sort of not computing correctly or something. But looks ok now, not so aggressive colours.
WIFI seems patchy, as I'm scrolling though facebook is kind of takes a while to catch up downloading next feed. Maybe the app as don't have many other problems with connection in other apps. it can scroll though a lot of feeds sometimes and most times only 3 to 5 then buffers.
with a speedtest.net test I constantly get over 100Mb so seems fast enough.
I don't have any real issues with touch screen, I use it in 480DPI too.
So far it's stable and the NOA rom is no better than this for me. so sticking with this one now as works better for me using 4G.
I believe the camera won't get any better, it's the lens or maybe the Mediatek chips that don't handle the graphics correctly or something. On one of the roms when using Gallery, when sliding the photo along to next or previous you could see the picture was focused sharper the millisecond it was in view and suddenly would be less sharp.(something to do with the gallery app maybe, It don't do it in this rom) I also have tried taking a screen shot to take a photo instead to see if that makes any difference, but when looking at it you still don't get sharp as it looks though the viewfinder/screen as you are looking at it. funny how the photo looks clear while looking at the object you are shooting on the screen looks good clear focused, then find the result is not quite as focused or detailed as it looked. In well lit conditions you can get some really nice photos though.
Well that's my opinion any way.
Thinking of getting the S2 Pro but it's looking like the camera is going to be worse in that unless they are going to use a better one, hoping that's what is going to be announced on Monday. or maybe it's going to be NFC. both I hope. |
