because we still do not receive security patches, when Google requires a minimum of 18 months of assistance.

That requirement is about Nexus/Pixel devices.  Post time 2018-3-7 05:38

I think UMIDIGI will not offer a software-side optimization of the camera for the Z Pro.
Presumably they think we are buying a new device. Maybe the S2 Pro.

I'm not Apple's friend, but they offer updates and security patches for their devices for up to 5 years.
It is a great pity that UMIDIGI stops support after about a year.
I would be interested to know what UMIDIGI thinks about it.

Apple releases 2-3 new models per year, while UMIDIGI releases about 10. In 2017 87% of the profit made by smartphones was earned by Apple, 10% by Samsung and the remaining 3% by all the other brands of the world - yes, even HTC, LG, Huawei etc. share that 3%. So if you ask me, comparing UMIDIGI to Apple is a pure nonsense in every aspect.

What is nonsense about this comparison?
Does UMIDIGI not want to produce high quality smartphones?
Does UMIDIGI not want to offer its customers good service?
Does UMIDIGI not want to fix software bugs?
Does UMIDIGI want me to buy a new device every year?
Does UMIDIGI not want to make updates to make sure my device stays usable for a long time?
Does UMIGIGI not want to improve the quality of its devices and customer satisfaction?

If UMIDIGI would only develope 6 instead of 10 devices per year,
they would have more capacity to develop and test the devices in detail.
So there would still be capacity to provide updates.

Where you got these sales figures is a mystery to me.
2017 market share:
Samsung = 20,9%
Apple = 14%
Huawei = 9,8%
OPPO = 7,3%
Vivo = 6,5%
Others = 41,5%

@ bencebacsi
You have written "comparing UMIDIGI to Apple is a pure nonsense in every aspect".
Do you think the comparison between Samsung Galaxy S9+ and UMIDIGI S2 Pro makes more sense.
see How much we overpay a flagship smartphone

What should this comparison tell us?
A Hyundai i10 is also cheaper than a Ferrari and requires less fuel ... so what?

@bencebacsi you are supposed to be an interface between we umidigi customers and their engineers  we have problem with our device,, why dont you tell them to release an update, one last  one to optimize the device, this device with so much potential is just being allowed to waste,

Both flashlights of the phone have very poor intensity hence they struggle at night,, I compared my phone with a low range phone with 13mp at the back and 8mp in front,the phone did far better at night ,I was ashamed,,, my phone pictures were grainy and there was a tendency for the flashlight to wash out some areas of the picture,,, it was completely abysmal from umidigi z pro.

The camera need software optimization.

The battery still needs software optimization
Then update the software to Oreo please
