Hi,

The chance is present but we can't promise anything. Better not to expect that.

Ok, so let me get this straight.
You're releasing a v2 of the s2 that supports android 7.0?

That is ridiculous, way to support your early buyers. You basically took a dump on those of us that bought the initial release. Unacceptable behavior, I love the device, but to release a device almost exactly the same in specs spare the processor, and label it v2.... seriously?

It seems like you guys are just trying to save face. Also as I stated ealrlier, way to alienate ealry buyers on this device!

v1 and v2 is given by me as some name extensions until a better solution will be found out. Although the two variants look the same, in hardware the S2 v1 (currently available model) is closer to UMi Plus E, while the S2 v2 (if it will be ever released) is basically based on the same hardware as the Z1 (Pro) or the S, and those models were initially released with Android 7.0 pre-installed. The UMIDIGI S2 has been being sold as an Android 6.0 device without the promise of a later Android version upgrade until now, so you could and can decide whether it's acceptable by you or not. https://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_748533.html?wid=11 We are sorry if you misunderstood something.
I think that would be still legal to sell a new smartphone with Android 2.3 if that's described correctly. Then it's the buyer's decision to accept it or not.

Thanks a lot ... Ben for your reply about these 2 version!!!  Post time 2017-11-3 23:39
But the latest available patches for the installed OS should be deployed with a new phone and not from January 2017. When is it planned to deploy latest patches?  Post time 2017-11-1 15:15

It seems the developers have been forgotten about the Android security patch and they're not really aware of its importance. I requested them to take care about it in the future. We'll see what happens.

Just got my s2 yesterday and it won't turn on, I charged it for 6 hours (because at first I thought it ran out of battery) but the notification light just stays red the whole time.
I've tried pressing power button 30 seconds, pressing it with volume - and then again with volume +, and nothing. I haven't tried connecting it to my computer. I'm about to send it back to gearbest for a refund, I was just wondering if it's safe to try to flash the stock ROM as a last attempt? Im just affraid it will ruin my guarantee somehow. So, should I try it or send it back just as it is?
