That's planned to upgrade UMI OS based devices to Oreo but at the moment we have nothing provided by MediaTek to work on those upgrades. As soon as we get the needed resources, we'll start to work. However, until that we can't promise anything certain.
Currently UMI OS systems cannot be rooted due to the Efuse partition protection to replace or modify the raw data system partitions such as the recovery and boot partitions.
Hi,
Please tell us some more details. Do you try to use the alarm clock when your phone is powered off or in working standby mode? The alarm is working but without playing your sound or the alarm doesn't sart at all?

Hi all. I have bricked Umidigi Z1 Pro with preinstalled Umi OS. The device was trying to flash firmw ...
Hi,
It's MT6757D, that's sure. If you really have an original Z1 Pro with UMI OS factory installed, try to flash only the preloader with SPFT (using the original, non-modified scatter file), then flash the whole ROM but with the QGDP tool.
Hi,
1. Try to long tap the screen on an empty part of the home screen, then select -desktop settings in the bottom right corner. Scroll down and disable the Freezer. That might help. You also can disable the news feed there by disabling 'Intelligent aggregating page'.
2. Currently the default launcher cannot be changed in any UMI OS systems. Hopefully that behavior will be changed in the future but currently I can't promise you a certain date. Even older mmodels get updates but in a longer time period. for example yesterday the C Note, what is an even older and cheaper model received an update with Desember security patch. So the Z1 Pro will not be different.
... nothing changes with the disabled freezer... my second installation after the restart hangs as before... but at least i disabled that annoying news page... Thanks
Can someone come in handy. I have overcome the problem, unbricked and flashed the phone. Because the error was talking about the mismatch of the hash of the download agent I chose as the download agent file DA_OEM.bin located in the firmware folder. Then flashed the preloader, the phone went from emergency mode and normally flashed. IMEI restored with MauiMETA_exe_v9.1724.17.00.
