So, there's this app called Intelligent News which is rated 1.9 in the Play Store. For some reason, Umidigi thought that customers would love to see it sticked to one of the home pages, without an option to uninstall or disable it. Now, tell me if this isn't just asking for trouble. If I need a news widget, I'll just go to the Play Store and choose one, I don't need the manufacturer to impose me one.

Another senseless thing is that lock screen with ads. In order to disable it, I had to disable everything I could from UMI OS. I still don't know where ads came from.

I want to use my favorite antivirus, but I can't, because 360 security can't be uninstalled or disabled.

9Apps, CLONE, FreeShare, TouchPal, all apps that can't be uninstalled or disabled.

Privacy System can be disabled, burt it's still in the settings doing nothing.

These are things that are just too bad to find on a phone that wasn't cheap (I've paid 170€ for mine) and that could easily be avoided/solved with a simple stock Android ROM.

I'm starting to understand why Umidigi doesn't want to change UMI Os. It was "hard coded" to function with the pre installed bloatware. The moment you change something, the system starts to fail. It's a sticky mess.

So, customizing UMI OS is a nightmare. Nevertheless, I was able to kind of use Smart Launcher. The home button is locked, the moment you touch it, Initiator is launched. So, I used QuickTouch to emulate the home button. When I long press it, it calls Smart Launcher's home page. It's not pretty, but it's better than nothing.

On a positive note, the more I use the phone, the happier I am with the equipment. It's easily the faster phone I've had. And I'm taking some nice pictures too.

Now I pray for a custom recovery with root.

The description is wrong (Gearbest fooled me with the same description). It's not Android 7.0, it's UMI OS 2.0 based on Android 7.0, which, unfortunetely, is very different.

More ads. TouchPal is causing them. My phone looks like a Christmas tree. This is really annoying.

Umidigi, what's taking you so long? Give us the option to uninstall the bloatware. This is a paid phone, not a free phone supported by ads.

I'm using C Note 2, and have exactly similar frustration or irritation you have.
I want to at least uninstall, or disable applications which I don't want to use and want to replace with others, but I don't have option to do so.
For example,
I want to change default launcher.
I want to uninstall 360 Security/Quick Touch/TouchPal/Intelligent News.(can't be uninstalled nor disabled)

I hope Umidigi to provide such options.

When will UMiDIGI respond?? Maybe all the staff are t ...

I am in hell with Umidigi S2 Pro ads having owned it only a few days, just found this thread.
The phone is nice, the ads that come with it are total bullsh*t and I regret having purchased the phone; if I can not resolve this I will sell the phone on ebay and never again buy a phone out of china, I will stick with a brand name phone in the USA. Right now I am disabling some system apps, disabling "draw over", disabling permissions, hoping that might solve this, and I am especially turning OFF the autoupdate for both Umi app store and Google Play store, otherwise all those disablings of permissions and drawover are lost.
