This is the SP Flash Tool release of the

V1.1_20170903 system software

for UMIDIGI Crystal 4GB

This ROM is only for the 4GB version with MT6750T SoC

Flash tool operation is recommended for experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!

UMIDIGI Crystal receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricked your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again.

Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6750T_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other components

SPFT: SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1728.rar

VCOM driver: Windows 10 already automatically can install it or you can use this: MTK_Driver_Auto_Installer_SP_Drivers_20160804.exe

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMIDIGI Crystal if the standard method doesn't work.

It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop

1. Connect your UMIDIGI Crystal to USB.

2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.

3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.

4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

That did work - but why would I need to wipe my phone for an update to work? That's plain awful.

My Crystal was rooted too, so I had to unroot it with SuperSU. This messed up everything, and I had to flash the version before with SP Tools and update via OTA (no root). For future updates I was thinking about flashing the zip manually with Flash Fire or if that doesn't work, to flash with SP Tools (but please, UMIDIGI, release the ROM accordingly). There we could try to untick "user data". Hopefully that prevents user data loss.

An error occurred while trying to upgrade. OTA Update UMIDIGI_Crystal_V1.1_20170929_20170929-1455.

The same problem as well. Downloaded, rebooted automatically and while upgrading it stops at around 20% with error as a message

It's not an update but the first version for production, so changelog is not available.

Exist custom recoverys? Like TWRP?
Is the phones bootloader factory-unlocked?

Hi,
It's a very new model, so any custom recovery is not yet available, maybe it won't even be available later. You can try to root it with Magisk Manager. MediaTek SoC based smartphones don't need to unlock the bootloader to be able to get root access.

You can root the phone easily by selecting the root option under Developer options
