TWRP Installation

If you root the phone with iRoot it installs TWRP. It will also install Kingroot to give you root access. You can replace Kingroot with SuperSU installing the beta version 2.52 of SuperSU from the recovery installed by iroot. When you boot the system again, if you open supersu iy will ask you to update binaries and also if you want to uninstall kingroot. Thus you can be root with supersu and a recovery installed, but the thing is, you apparently cannot install cm 12.1 from that recovery. I don't know about installing it some other way.

In my case iRoot didn't install a usable TWRP - so I can't replace Kingroot.

When using Flashify to install TWRP, do you install the twrp_eng.img from the Rom section, or do you download a version of TWRP within Flashify? If the second is the case, what version do I have to choose? I don't see the Umi Emax Mini in the device list?

There you have the image of the backup from iroot's recovery. Still, you can't really do anything but install supersu, for what I read. Just install it recovery with flishify or rasher, and then install supersu 2.52 from recover. Then enter supesu, update binaries and say yes when it asks to unikstall kingroot. And thats it. But no cm for now. Please if somebody manages to install cm let us know!

If somebody knows how to explore images, it would be interesting to know whats inside and what makes them different. Meaning, what does the one that I posted have or do that makes it work.

I have another hint for you guys to get fastboot working.
For some unknown reason fastboot didn't recognize my device automatically.
I had to find the Vendor ID first.
When in Bootloader mode Windows should recognize a USB device "Andriod Bootloader".
Double click on it in the device manager and take note of the Vendor ID.
When I added this ID to the fastboot command I could work with fastboot.
In my case it was "1BBB".
Add this to the fastboot commandline with the switch "-i".
Something like this: fastboot -i 0x1bb boot "twrp.img"
