No.  does not work ------> WAIT FOR DEVICE!
Seems that:
When the device is turned on -> "adb devices" Recognize emax mini
When the device is on bootloader -> "adb devices" does not recognize mini emax


And ..... yes: iroot install a TWRP.

I will try iRoot then... But you cannot flash CM12.1 using TWRP provided by iRoot?

Ok sorry for maybe being a noob but this is what I understand now from this thread.

Method 1: Install TWRP Manually + Root with iRoot

• Install adb,  drivers and fastboot on PC
• Enable USB Debugging on Phone
• Go to umi emax mini recovery folder on PC in CMD.
• Connect Phone with PC (Powered on in Android)
• Check connection: "adb devcices"
• Boot into bootloader:"adb reboot-bootloader"
• Check devices in fastboot: "fastboot devices"
• Flash recovery: "fastboot flash recovery twrp_eng.img"
• Reboot phone: "fastboot reboot"
• Install iRoot on PC
• Root phone with iRoot on Windows
  

Result: TWRP and Root enabled


Method 2: Root with iRoot + get TWRP automatically

• Install adb,  drivers and fastboot on PC
• Enable USB Debugging on Phone
• Install iRoot on PC
• Root phone with iRoot on Windows
  

Result: TWRP and Root enabled
Are these methods correctly described? If so which method is best to use?

After this, which button combination does boot into TWRP

As another person said, I have put my device on debuging mode and adb commands are working perfectly, but if I write and execute adb reboot bootloader (or adb reboot fastboot, or if I try to enter bootloader by long pressing power and vol- when device is powered off) fastboot commands don't work because no device is found.

Oh, and apps like KingRoot and iRoot can perfectly flash recovery images, in fact, if you read KingRoot thread on XDA, you are advised that KingRoot may flash a third-part recovery

On method one, the two last steps are wrong, you should type "fastboot flash recovery twrp_en.img" and then "fastboot reboot". As far as I know, you need to use fastboot, not adb to flash.
I will try iRoot method and I will let you know if I can finally flash CM12.1 ;)

i can flash CM12.1 but with latest unbrick kit doesn't work for me.
CM 12.1 works for me when I used official firmware TCL M3G (smartphone almost identical)

@arya5 attention ... probably, you will  lose IMEI with twrp recovery ...

Thanks. I corrected last steps in my post.

Looking forward to your results regarding CM12.1.

Does 'Power + Volume down' boot into TWRP?

PS: first method is "unnecessary" because the controls don't work ...
PS: if they work ...  install supersu from TWRP without iroot

You can flash a recovery image with iroot or kingroot as well as with many other apps too IF your phone is already rooted. You can't install a custom recovery with adb apps instead of or without rooting your phone.
