umi os is a piece of shit, has annoying applications in addition to impressive publicity, I want to remove the operating system or at least remove the applications I do not like, can someone help?

Hi I just received my C Note 2 today and the device is stuck in a boot loop whenever I turn on the wifi. Is there a fix to this ? If so, how? I purchased the phone from Gearbest.com and I'm currently residing in Canada.

I recently purchased a C NOTE 2 and did not sync my google contacts even by downloading the google app. How can I do? Contacts app does not appear in my mobile phone's google account as that can I sync them.

Contact sync- install Google Contacts from play store, sync, then in phone app choose to show contacts for your account.
To remove newsfeed $h1ty thing- disable system app Intelligent Aggregating Page.

Umidigi, please release pure android for C Note 2. Phone has good specs, but UMI OS...

I am not very technical and I run macOS on my desktop, so I prefer OTA updates. However, I run version 1.5 and when I check for updates on the phone (the phone does not run for more than a minute or so before crashing) it states that there are no updates available and I am tunning the latest version. Is SPFT  really the only way ?

Hi Marc

Thanks, I tried several times to do a factory reset (power on + volume up, following the menu). A factory reset from the Android settings screen is not possible since the system crashes before I can reach that point.
I managed to do the update to 1.7 with SPFT (using Parallels desktop on macOS and Windows 7 image), but the basic problems still remain:
- The phone gets 'stuck' every 30 seconds or so and needs to be rebooted.
- Many default apps get stuck and the phone is then no longer responsive.

I was unable to install software because the system crashes before I can even install or start anything.
I guess this is a DOA, but returning it to China (from Europe) is not worth it.

What a pity and a disappointment, this phone really looks great...but absolutely not usable this way. Any ideas ?

Yes I tried the format and download option, but the same result
Plus I had to enter the IMEI (becomes invalid after format)...but the phone does not stay on long enough to enter.

I read in the ROM forum that someone has exactly the same problem. Anxious to know if he was able to solve.
It is possible to send the phone back to the seller, but I have pay for those costs...and they are more than the phone originally cost.
I think I just cut my loss...160 euro down the drain :-(
Next time I will buy Xiaomi

Please use again SPFT and flash previous (please use first release firstly)  firmware.IMEI number need to be write with SN writer. Please follow this instruction

As you are not too interested send phone for repair as shipping cost is to high maybe good option will be open phone and disconnect and reconnect each connector.
