This is the QGDP + SP Flash Tool release of the

V1.6_20170725 (UMI OS 2.0) system software

for UMIDIGI C NOTE 2

Flash tool operation is recommended for experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!

UMIDIGI C NOTE 2 receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricked your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again.

WARNING!

Flashing this ROM on any other model will permanently brick your device, flashing the original ROM that fits your device will not be possible anymore!

Please make sure, double check that, you are working with a UMIDIGI C NOTE 2 smartphone before starting the flashing process with this ROM!

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMIDIGI C NOTE 2 if the standard method doesn't work.

It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop

1. Connect your UMIDIGI C NOTE 2 to USB.

2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.

3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.

4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

I could translate the Chinese only resources of the other flasher app, called QGPD.
QGPD: QGDP_Assembly_V3.1.8._portable.rar
ROM file: UMIDIGI_CNOTE2_7.0.025.P1.1707251413.5501L.VZ_YM_5501L_OE.NOEFUSE.rar

1. Extract both the flasher and the ROM file
2. In its folder run the QGPD tool by double clicking on QGDP_assembly.exe
3. Set the language to English and input ase as password. So the password is: ase
4. Click on the Config button and brows for the CPB file. That's your ROM file. (You don't have to select a log server address)
5. Click on Apply and wait until the content of the CPB file gets extracted. The Config window will get closed automatically.
6. Click on the Scan Port button at the top of the main window. A new sub-window will pop-up
7. Click on the 'Scan port' button in the sub-window
8. Press and hold the volume-down button of your phone and connect it to USB - Your phone must be powered off. (As soon as your port gets added to the list, release the vol-down button or your phone will boot into factory mode)
9. Click on the save button and disconnect the USB cable.
10. Now click on the Start button, then quickly connect your phone to USB again while pressing its vol-down button. As soon as the flashing process gets started (the Cell 0 icon will turn into a yellow down-arrow), release the vol-down button and wait until the flashing process gets finished.
From this point I can't help you without a UMI OS device in hand, so I wish you a good luck. After a successful flashing, remove the USB cable and you should be able to boot up your phone. Now you may close the flasher app (first click on the Stop button or it will keep waiting for another device to flash), and the extracted resources will be automatically deleted. The CPB file won't be deleted, of course.

Here few bugs and annoying item list in UMI OS that I encountered:
1. Blank lock screen when you use any of lock method while Smart Lock activated. It appear after the screen asked for pin/password or after many failde fingerprints and you're in trusted places, the screen would just become a blurred lockscreen without any pin/pass windows.
2. The phone will freeze with messed up/ghost up notification bar when you received lots of notifications at the same time.
3. You can't change the launcher.
4. Incompatibility with some games, the endless loading screen.
5. The Touchpal keep appear and asking for permission when I turned "asked for password before boot", please get rid this app in the next update, AOSP keyboard is enough!
6. Annoying bloatwares, get rid of some before you force this UMI OS to all your phone.
7. A big ass icons for the feature in the notification bar that can't be minimized? How on earth I'm going to read my notification when half of the screen is for that stuff?

And here my last advice? If Umidigi can't fix or make an optimized OS, then just give us an update for the stock android! My Elephone P8 Mini is much better than this shitty Umidigi C Note 2. Funny thing is that i bought two of this crap, one is already bricked and waiting for update to revive it and one is useless for daily use because lots of bugs and error.

Just give us a stock android!

Why on earth UMI try to change what is good? Anything works good must be changed...  UMI OS is a crap ! Only bloatware which is asking for dousins of permissions to work ! And you can't uninstall them. Just make the next ROM a clean Android 7 ROM and get rid of your stupid OS ! It is quite a nice phone but the software is killing it ! I intend to sell it if UMI does nor release a clean Android 7 ROM ! This is is not my first UMI phone but will be the last, with their stupid UMI OS !!!

When I click on Battery in Settings, program Settings always shut down. Same for Settings - Screen - Charging lock screen. Factory reset helps for while. After few days using same problem.

That's a normal behavior if the preloader doesn't work. Please wait for the official solution, I have no chance to work out something without such a device in hand. I'm really sorry.

Bought two of this phone and bricked one of phone after OTA, haven't opened the other one yet.
UMIDIGI need to close the OTA server temporary before this problem become widespread, especially after all the preorders arrived to their buyers.
Hopefully they could give us the fix for this problem ASAP, because this is a critical problem for their reputation.

I tried flash only the preloader partition with SP Flash Tool - the error is the same "ERROR STATUS_EXT_RAM_EXCEPTION (0xc0050005)".
I tried to clamp the button volume down, tried to clamp all three buttons at once - no result.

Yes, I tried and now tried again - didn't hold any buttons, and downloaded only the preloader. Same error as always.

When i try to flash umidigi c note 2 via flash tool the red bar appears at the bottom and nothing happens, phone is detected by pc as mtk usb port. I also tried to push power and volume buttons while flashing. Please help.

Hi,
Theoretically you can't have a C Note 2 in hand since it's still in pre-sale only, shipping has not started. Don't you have a C Note (not the second release)? If yes, you just tried to flash an incompatible ROM.

My C NOTE 2 bricked while I was installing OTA update, I've seen a black screen while progress, And can not power on by press power button.
When I try to flash this firmware via flash tool. I face with "BROM failed" message in the first time. And face with the 100% red bar appears at the bottom and nothing happens from that progress for a while and then I face with "RAM_EXIT_NOT Blablabla" in the 2nd time flashing.

I just got receive my order from AliExpress UMIDIGI C NOTE 2, when i open the package and try the phone everything is work good. But when im going to wireless update and download the update package then upgrade suddenly my phone black screen and totally dead (No sign of activity on my phone even when I charge the phone).
im ever try to flashrom but not success, just show only messages "ERROR STATUS_EXT_RAM_EXCEPTION (0xc0050005)"
Please help me....... I do not know what can i do.

And the other problem i have too UMIDIGI C NOTE i got it 2 months ago.... Initially the screen is like ghost touch then I update.
After the update the problem so another, the screen suddenly white. the phone shows normal activities only the screen is white, can hear the call, I try flash rom and run perfectly but the screen is still white.

Please Umidigi Admin, Anwer me.... if you have solution.

Dear Users,
I must admit that, I don't yet have this or any other UMI OS based phone in hand and I'm surprised, some buyers received their devices so soon.
If your phone is bricked and the flashing process cannot start, you can try to choose the Format All + Download option in the flasher app, then after clicking on the Download button, press and hold all the three side buttons of your phone, and connect it to USB. As soon as the flashing process gets started, release the buttons and wait for the flashing process to be finished.
If you are still unsuccessful, there's another flasher app for UMI OS based smartphones, but that has a partially Chinese language UI, so I have to write a tutorial for it.

I'm just upgrade via wireless update my new UMIDIGI C NOTE 2. why suddenly totally dead when upgrading process, Initially I think phone just restart, after I wait the phone will not turn on at all...
Please help me, i love this phone because i was try some feature from this phone although only about one hour....... Just because the update I lost my New UMIDIGI C NOTE 2.

It usually means that, the communications between the phone and SP Flash Tool is interrupted.
Did you try the method I recommended last time?
